"I changed the sound of music more than one time... For all those reasons, I'd be a part of the Bible. I'm definitely in the history books already."

Too bad this lad doesn't have the musical chops to back up those big words. I'll be glad when this tool's 15 minutes are up.

he doesn't sound really that different from too many rappers that I know. Myabe I am just not informed, but it's the same stuff I've always heard. Outkast will be in the history books for influence, for changing alot of music, but Kanye West, I doubt it. Mouth too big, with feeet that easily seem to insert themselves once and again.

He's like Fred Durst... "MY MUSIC IS AMAZING! IM INNOVATIVE! ME ME ME!"...
What ever happened to a humble attitude? What ever happened to class?

Humble attitudes and musicians? :lol

Somewhere in the world, someone said something trivial that doesn't really impact me or anyone I know in any manner.

Oh that makes me so angry!!!!!!!

I don't think someone who indulges in voyeurism should knock others for class.

Where does the notion that one has to be classy to see the lack of class in somebody else come from? I don't need to be a human to see that a dog isn't a human.

He's saying you don't have a pot to piss in here. That happens as a result of selling another human being for toys.

You guys are fucking harsh, you know that? I don't think I could point to a single instance where I was mean to any of you and yet you casually ignore facts in order to attack me.

It's getting pretty fucking ridiculous.

You whored out your girlfriend. That's Magna Carta bad.

And you just whored out David Jaffe... Fuck that noise.

I didn't receive any payment for my groundbreaking expose on Jaffe. I was doing it as a favor to gamers anywhere. I can't help it that Jaffe likes jacking the shafts of both MS and Sony at the same time.

Let's see, how did he change music again? Oh yeah, MORE SAMPLING!! Wonderful innovation Kanye..you sampled some soul records and suddenly became revolutionary..what a toolbag.

Wait..people are still hating on sampling?

Yeah, because it's not like he topped numerous critics year-end lists BOTH times with his freshmen and sophomore releases, sold millions of albums worldwide and received two grammys for his first two albums ever produced, while also receiving a grammy for best rap song of 2005.

Kanye who?

:lol Damn, I love Kanye's music but why the fuck is he so cocky?

Eminem > Kanye and has sold more than Kanye ever will and I don't remember Eminem EVER being conceited.

One thing that's not too good about Kanye is his freestyles. I hate to admit it (since he's one of my favorite rappers), but he sucks in this department.

Kanye who?

For those of you wondering: He produced all of Common's cd (cept 1 track), and most to all of John Legend's cd (not too sure about how many tracks). John Legend won 3 grammy's last night; including R&B Album of the year...

He said he "changed the sound of music". All I'm saying is that people a) have been sampling for years, and b) made the original albums he sampled from (in which case they were changing music, and he was rearranging it).

I don't have a problem with creative, tastefully done sampling (I can't stand songs that lift damn near the entire track, however), and Kanye certainly has sampled creatively in the past. But he's also fashioned some tracks that simply loop old soul/r&b/etc melodies for the entirety of the track (Diamonds Are Forever). Slapping some snares and breaks over a lifted loop is not "changing music", any more that Green Day changed rock by bringing back paint-by-numbers pop-punk.

You just confirmed this statement.

When this LP came out, everybody wanted their shit to sound like this. There is no mistake about that. Production-wise, this LP is flawless. Kanye and Just Blaze did the damn thing

And FYI..please don't cite Grammy's or sales as a means of judging music. And John Legend's album had about 2 good songs, and almost zero creativity. I bought it hoping for something grounbreaking (and in part because of Kanye's production) and ended up with warmed over B-grade r&b that R Kelly wouldn't piss on. Weak Grammy for a weak year. Where for art thou, D'Angelo!

Do you guys even think Kanye West takes Kanye West seriously? That may be even a little too far-fetched even for him!

Oh no, I wasn't saying that him producing grammy winning tracks was a reason for remembering him, just saying that he will be remembered for something; if not for his rapping.

Probably not. He also probably realizes there is no such thing as bad publicity. It's so easy to say something silly and ignite talk as evidenced in these weekly threads when people are so gullible which keeps his name out there. It's like free publicity from "critics".

I already want to punch this guy in the mouth, and I'm not even familiar with any of his music.
