im on Kanye's side here. his stage-hopping stunt was parlayed by her and her management team into a years long IM A VICTIM branding strategy. without this narrative she is just another vacant rich blonde singing about the various dudes she fucks. she put out an album called "Reputation" all about her negative press and leaned so hard into all of the snake imagery that it 100% became her new brand. KANYE MADE HER
the truly fucked up thing is that it plays into the history of stereotypes of white women as victims of black men. she is leaning into racism to help sell her feminism. "oh this dangerous black man is victimizing a pretty white woman". easy to sell because it is based on old racist stereotypes. in this day and age, when feminism and intersectionality has been determined to be more important than racial justice, that's a good bet if you want to make money. so she and her team leaned on that narrative and made that bet.
at any rate, Taylor Swift is the most privileged person on the planet. she and her stockbroker parents and can go to hell. Kanye came from far humbler origins. it's not really a question of who to support.
