It looks like fans of Namco’s Katamari Damacy will have to wait a bit more for its upcoming sequel. While the official page for Minna Daisuki Katamari Damacy still dates the game for a spring release, the latest issue of Famitsu magazine reports that Namco is pushing back the release date a few months to this summer.

Minna Daisuki Katamari Damacy will feature the same basic rules and controls as the previous installment. Gamers once again assume the role of the diminutive Prince of All Cosmos, and will roll around a giant ball of sticky debris (katamari), clumping together various objects that are scattered throughout the stages to it, snowball-style, making it bigger and bigger.

I bet the delay is so they can polish the normal maps and implement a unified lighting system.

its either this or they are waiting for weta and peter jackson to finish the cut scenes.

When is this damn game coming to europe damn it!?!?

I saw that it was announced that the 2nd would be released here...but what's the point without even having the 1st. Release the damn thing already!

Can we expect another soundtrack featuring Akitaka Tohyama, Kenji Ninuma, Yohihito Yano or Saki Kabata?
Akitaka Tohyama and Yoshihito Yano should be there, since they're Namco Sound Team employees and have worked on other Namco games. Kenji Ninuma and Saki Kabata are contract vocalists hired specifically for KD - whether or not they return is unknown (and unlikely). I'm more interested in whether or not Yu Miyake (more Namco Sound Team), the man in charge of the game's sound, is back on the team. Most likely, methinks.

Yeah, I really hope Miyake returns even though I don't see any reason why it shouldn't happen.
