Fans of the series will shit on it anyways because it's not a high budget fan production that captures the wacky mashup of western themes with eastern interpretations. At least Keanu's a fan of the series and this does have the backing of the original production crew. i'm not expecting much myself given the fact that Fox will be trying to make it accessible to non-fans, and they've got a lot to cover in ~100 minutes or so.

I'm almost hoping that the movie doesn't follow the mythology of the show & of spike's past, and instead is just more like a typical episode of the show - the crew is out of money, chases a bounty, etc.
