Kerry on Meet The Press -- Russert crys

Great answers by Kerry, though I would have liked him to respond with a curt, "Why are we rehashing old, fictional stories about my Vietnam record when we should be discussing the disastorous policies that are affecting millions of people in this country?" to combat any future questioning which Russert just cannot get off of.

And here I thought questioning concerning Kerry and Cambodia was strictly FoxNews ware.

Good answers on abortion, Dean, Scailia, and especially Social Security to which Russert cried "BUT THAT'S RAISING THE TAXES FOR THE RICH..."

Kerry, "Well, call it what you want, but rolling back taxes on the upper percentage of income makers will fix SS. You and I both have friends with that kind of money who don't need it, and that were fine with this same plan in the 90's."

Also, Kerry didn't rule out a Senate or Presidential run in 2008. He absolutely eviscerated Bush on Iraq and the faux crisis that is SS and stated again for the umpteenth time that Rumsfeld needs to go. When Russert showed a quote of Kerry's back from 1986 where he voiced his support for Justice Antonin Scalila, Kerry quickly responded, "I was wrong. He's become too ideologically rigid."

OMG ZE FLIP FLOP IS BACK!

And yes, Kerry is still as verbose as ever. Credited his presidential loss to the fact that OBL made an appearence on TV screens everywhere just four days before election, and that 9/11 was the defining issue.

Overall, good stuff.

Why didn't he admit that he got out-campaigned in Ohio? Bush visited almost every major city in the state (sometimes more than once).

To me, that is why he lost.

I believe Kerry spent more time in Ohio than Bush. Also, Kerry's campaign did better than Bush-Cheney '04 as far as ad buys go and the ads reaching their primary targets.

Although it would have been nice to win Ohio, there would still have been a vote deficit from elsewhere in the country. I don't appreciate how the election system causes candidates to focus on a few states and using others as atms.

I'm impressed by any politician that can say "I was wrong."

God American politics are so fucking screwy. That right people there only two ideas in the world. The only two colors are black and white. dogs or cats, people. Choose one. Ford or GM. Micheal Moore was right. Oprah for President. At least then you get someone who doesn't tow the party lines, right or wrong. She'll need neither of them. Housewife everywhere will storm the polling stations. Vice President Dr Phil. Stedman in the post of, I don't know, Presidential Pool Boy.

I was only able to get two snippets off this from MSNBC's (absymal) site, but I'm very glad to see Kerry coming off strong and concise, particularly with respect to the the significance of the elections and the safety concerns of America. Keep that up and, depending on circumstances in '08, he just may land himself in office.

FLAWLESS VICTOLY!
I'm no fan of Kerry, he's just another member of the elite chum club to me, but when exactly did Russert become such a dog-licking turd of the media establishment? I know it was a while ago, but I'm curious. It seems like once upon a time he had a little bit of character and sincerity that would ooze through his tv pores, but maybe I'm imagining things.
