KFC is trying again.

The fast-food company will offer a free piece of its grilled chicken to all U.S. customers on Monday, according to The Associated Press. It will be the third time in six months that the chain has offered a giveaway to promote its new menu item, Kentucky Grilled Chicken.

The grilled chicken actually debuted across the country last spring, when KFC offered the deal with the help of Oprah Winfrey. But Oprah's star power was more than KFC could handle. So many people downloaded the coupon from Oprah's Web site that KFC was overwhelmed. Some stores even ran out of the grilled chicken.

Things will be different this time, KFC president Roger Eaton told the AP. "We gear the shifts up so we make sure we've got the staffing, we make sure we've got the chicken," he said.

Monday's deal is for one day only, the same as KFC's first promotion back in April, when it gave away more than 4 million pieces of grilled chicken.

Eh, it's not too bad. Add a drink and some potato wedges and you got yourself a decent lunch.

What the Grilled Chicken has showed me is that KFC's chicken is anemic without the batter... which says a lot. Their food usually makes me nauseous anyways.

The KGC is not too bad. I did like how KFCs stopped giving them out though, and then people freaked and shit. Hilarious.

The last time I tried this I went to KFC and they said that they were "out" of grilled chicken. They made me fill out this form and I got a coupon mailed to me several weeks later. But I couldn't use the coupon for like another 4 weeks.

fuck that shit

Mmm mmm, just like The Colonel used to make it. I love that the secret ingredients aren't listed in the sense that there's more shit in it.

Did you get your chicken?

I like how there's beef in their chicken.

Anyhow, I tried it when we were in the U.S. earlier this year (no grilled in Canada), and I was surprised... it's pretty good. I'd go to KFC now and again if they had it here, rather than the never that I currently go there.

you guys are ALL confusing this with the "free 2 piece meal" coupon from earlier this year. the few times they did the free piece of chicken were disaster free.

Yeah, this is a free piece not a whole meal. People were going crazy trying to get an entire KFC meal in the other thing.

Grilled? Ugh. Just a piece? Ugh. If I'm driving by and there's no huge line, I might stop.

I didn't participate in the last giveaway (was in college and there was no nearby KFC) but my mom and my brother were complaining about it to no freakin end).

I really dislike KFC, but I really, REALLY like their grilled chicken. It's actually pretty good. Oh, and I can't forget about the coleslaw.

what? Maybe in the KFC bites, but it's pretty hard to put any other meat in chicken when its all on the bone.

Ever since their triple stacker turned into a double stacker, KFC has sucked. It wasn't even actually good, it was just a huge fucking sandwhich for the price.

No big deal, IMO, but just kind of amusing.

Free chicken again? Awaits youtube videos and some local news coverage from some Southern state.

I lived 2 places growing up, City and Farm, divorced parents, father use sell chickens and one summer for 8-10 days the person he paid to take away the dead chickens didn't show up, had no choice but to burn the rotting chickens, that smell, smells just like the KFC grilled chicken you had to be there too see what i saw, I don't walk into to KFC anymore that smell is Putrid and disgusting can't eat KFC again.

KFC Grilled Chicken=Burnt rotting Chicken.

The grilled chicken wasn't that bad. It's pretty much what you'd expect, the KFC flavor without the crunchy batter coating.

That said, it was still a tad greasy for my taste.

I might attempt it. Just not sure if spending my entire lunch hour and burning up gas waiting(outside OR the drive thru) is worth a piece or two of their delicious grilled chicken

So the KFC near me has had a sign up since about a month after the grilled chicken launch.

"Due to health department we do not have grilled chicken."

Or something to that effect (with bad grammar).

At first I assumed that they simply needed some sort of license/inspection/paperwork that was somehow different for grilled chicken. But it's been what, 4 months?

Also:

Grilled chicken is cows!

Did you not read the part of the ingredients list where it said "rendered beef fat"?

Maybe you expected the free market to read it for you.
