Kid Icarus...

And never heard of Hello Kitty World.

The music is quite similar to the Balloon Trip theme as well. I don't know what the deal is exactly. Some random Google hits call Hello Kitty World a port of Balloon Kid. If not a port, it's a ripoff.

Um, also Kid Icarus is a good game. It's fun to play.

I got so depressed when I got hit by an eggplant in Kid Icarus. I definitely beat this game, as it was quite fun and exciting. I always tried to get the most of those little things....that did things. Yes. I have forgotten all Icarus terminology.

To those complaining that this game was too hard...

It's nothing compared to the Ghosts n' Goblins games.

It's nothing compared to many, many games. I'm pretty shocked that so many people are making Kid Icarus out to be "impossible." I used to play through it, start to finish, on a regular basis at around age 9. And I'm not all that awesome at games, honestly.

Are you supposed to do anything in that door at the beginning of the game?

If you didn't get all of the arrow power ups by not killing enough monsters and getting a high enough score the first time through the game, that first door will often get you another arrow powerup when you get to replay the game right after beating it... if your score is high enough after defeating Medusa.

Have you:

a) played it? Nope

b) beaten it? Nope

c) whats Kid Icarus? I don't know... I really dont see what the big deal about the game is.

Kid Icarus? Hard?

Go back and play it again sometime. I beat that game in a sitting the first time I played it.
Actually I just went back and played it on an emulator not too long ago (back when I still did emulators) and found it to be extremely difficult even with excessive saving. Then again, I've always sucked at platformers and the jumps in that game can be pretty ridiculous. I own the GB version and can't stand it. Like the NES version, it's extremely repetitive and just too hard.

Uh, maybe because you haven't played it? Jackass.

Probably one of the weakest games that Nintendo has developed. The last level however was fun, wish the entire game was like that.

You sir are wrong.

The last level however was fun, wish the entire game was like that.

And completely remove all the vertical platforming that makes the game so great? Shirly you jest.

the year 20XX
After I originally replied to you, I did an image.google search (/me repeats what I did yesterday) and found this:
Hello%20Kitty%20World%20-%20Japan.gif

And on the title screen of Balloon Kid, the copyright/tm year whatever that year stands for is 1990 so Hello Kitty World is an NES port of the GB game but with Hello Kitty masked over it. Though the gameplay looks the same, with the 2 balloons and right to left autoscroll thing (just play the damn game already :P ). Also at the bottom of that screenshot, it says Mario Co. so I'd imagine so. :p

And whoever thinks Megaman 1 is harder than anything is out of their mind. Sure Kid Icarus isn't as hard as some people say it is (it's more cheap than anything), but saying, of all games, Megama 1 is harder??? You're completely bonkers. The game can be cheap (yellow demon if you don't know what you're doing, Gutsman stage's platforms for those who don't like platform jumping) but hard? The mind boggles. :P

And everyone knows Ghosts 'n Goblins is in a league of it's own and can never be compared to other games unless they're called Ghouls 'n Ghosts. :P

I'll stop derailing the thread now.
