From what I've played (a good 20 mins or so), I like the game. The visual style is very refreshing, from the actual cel-shading to how the different personalites are pictured. I mean, they have their own unique running animation, and even weapon reload animation that fits their style. The dialogues and story are bizarre in a "Twin Peaks meets cyberpunk world" kind of way. I wouldn't say the game is scary though, more like a moody, trippy thriller.
As for gameplay, Killer 7 reminds me of point-and-click adventures since those are also "on rails" when you think of it. You can't fully control the character, but you can stop at any moment to look around, turn around and the game points out locations, characters and important items to you by making it a different "route" to choose.
Of course, there's also the action thrown in, where you shoot zombie-like creatures walking towards you. If you use a kind of scanning device, you can see their random weak point. If you shoot them at that very spot, they die instantly and you recieve more blood (which can be used to heal yourself, for example). It was a bit hard to aim at times, but it seemed like you had a lot of ammunition which made things easier. Although when there are many enemies on-screen, you have to be fast.
