Pragmata New 7 minutes Gameplay (ChinaJoy 2025)

I wonder if hacking robots can go beyond applying some damage bonus. If you were able to make them work for you or alter their behaviors, and if there could be synergies between different kinds of robots, it could lead to some neat tactical gameplay.

But what's shown in the video seems to imply that all you do with hacking is stun and apply a damage bonus which I can see getting boring pretty fast.
I was coping real hard with DD2, telling myself that the reason why they were barely showing anything in the open world is because they want it to be a secret, and let players discover it by themselves. I got fucked. Game ended up being empty af. Not coping with Pragmata, and the uniqueness that could be had in the game. There's simply no reason for them to not mention that there's more than hacking their armor to deal more damage, and they didn't say anything about it.

I think this is a just a vertical slice of the game, as the dev was just one-shotting all the enemies.
With music and a survival horror resource management system it could be a compelling game.

I hope so.
I still think there's potential there, but what they have shown so far doesn't look very exciting.
Most of the hands on previews from Summer Games Fest were very positive, so it might just be one of those games that's a bit boring to watch but really fun to play. Though many of the journalists writing those previews are the same that say Dragons Dogma 2 and Monster Hunter wilds are 9/10 games, so I take their opinions with a grain of salt.

Seemed like 7 minutes of footage from a tutorial zone, I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt that there's more to it than that. You could be right and it might be a disaster but isn't it far too early to make that call?
I would agree, but i am seeing this after DD2 and Wilds. After these two games, i am seeing Capcom very differently to pre DD2 release.

Yeah good point, Capcom have this thing were they don't mind showing the whole fucking game in the trailers.

We should separate Capcom by team rather than painting with a broad brush stroke as you're suggesting.

Yes, DD2 and Wilds have their issues.

However, Resident Evil, DMC, etc. have mostly been fine. This game looks like it falls on that side of the fence because it's not open world.

I'm actually hoping for some good replayability here with new game plus modes and (maybe) a Raid Mode (please Capcom).

People like saying that the root of the problems with DD2 and Wilds are being open-world, but imo it has more to do with Capcom releasing them at the end of the fiscal year while still being half-baked. RE9 will either confirm or deny this.

For me it's a probability thing. There's a higher probability this game will run fine because it's not open world.

Even if their engine is indeed capable of an optimized open world game, it's still considered a higher risk based on their output and development schedules.

I'll take my cool corridor puzzle shooter with sad-feeling music instead. Some of the effects in this game actually look like they came from that Deep Down demo they showed long ago.

Root of the problem is RE Engine(used for games it can't reasonably handle) and Monster Hunter Creator becoming Chief Product Manager.

Lots of MTX and a pattern showing them sacrificing IPs at the altar to boost profit margins near the end of the fiscal year.

Did it with DD2, then MH, and now it'll be RE's turn.

The puzzle concept will just be a shooter with extra steps. Do the puzzle and you'll expose weak points to more damage. Don't do the puzzle and it'll take longer to kill enemies. It seems complicated and unintuitive but is probably an acquired taste and might be fun in motion.

Course we have other games with a hacking component in Nier Automata and CP2077 so I think it's a wait and see.

I said it before in other threads but Pragmata seems like Megaman game...with uninteresting character design.

Great hair physics though on NotRollfromNotMegaman.

Day one. Not sure if the puzzle combat will get repetitive after a while but its certainly unique and different.

I hate some people miss judging this game like they did with DK Bananza.

Like how people said "DKB just gonna be about breaking thing and it will gets boring" it took me 50 hours to finish the game…..50 HOURS! and breaking things NEVER got old.

Maybe wait either until the game comes out or at least demo before Judging it.

Hacking enemies mid combat is not original. The reason why you don't see it elsewhere, is not because Capcom are the first ones who came up with the idea, but because it's a bad gameplay mechanic that will feel repetitive within a hour of play, now imagine ~15h of doing this throughout your first playthrough.

All I see is Diana hacking enemies, hacking bosses which will be more involved I'd imagine and using hacking to open doors or solve puzzles as you go from room to room. Hugh does platforming with his Astronaut suit and is tooty mcshooty.

And if this is all, i am not exactly sure what took them this long to release the game, and have this many delays.

Looks like another Hideo Kojima game. The girl looks like a creepy porcelain doll, too. Is the game also developed by a Chinese team and not Japan?
