Killer Bean Game Announced

From the same creator as Killer Bean Forever, this is a first person/third person, open-world, roguelike shooter. Every time you start a new single player campaign, everything changes. The locations change, the missions change, the characters change, the bosses change, and most of all, the story changes. Characters who you trusted before, may turn against you. Enemies who tried to kill you, may end up helping you. Simple missions can turn into deadly traps. No two campaigns are the same.

Gameplay and graphics actually look freaking great!

The choice of going with a fucking bean for the characters, however, was an unforced error. All the characters just look like dimpled smooth-faced scrotums. And why the heck did they go with beans anyway? I can get wanting to make an attempt at something whimsical, but beans were just a dumb choice.

considering this is a game tie in to what's essentially a shitpost version of John Wick it's extremely funny (but also kind of expected) that they put so much effort into this game. Assuming it's not just a bunch of bullshots & you can do everything shown here, i'd really play this.

Finally. Bean waiting 20 years for this.

Downloaded Killer Bean Short back in 2003.

Stylistic shooters are in short supply.

This thread is split right down the middle between people who know, and those who don't

Andy Samberg Thats Cool GIF

So much effort into bespoke fun animations but kept the standard example character movement anim

Weird choice (and it throws me off)

Easy to model and animate.
While you do have a good point, always remember that Just because an object may seem simple to make doesn't mean it was easy to implement or the fact that it didn't take much work or effort to make. These animations actually look rather polished and animate very well.

Considering Season 3 GIF by Portlandia

Maybe... but c'mon, there must have been far better choices available that were just as simple to model and animate?
Most likely because it has a cartoony look going for it because its an object that the casual crowd or younger audience can recognize and like Fuz Fuz said, because it's a such a simple object it also doesn't take as much work to get it going, assuming the artist and tech people know what they are doing. You can still fuck up, even with the simplest of things. Another reason is because it seems to be established on an existing IP, their YouTube channel has 800K subscribers, so its going to be a lot easier to market.
