An interesting video showing that a third Game in the series was planned.
Key Points
- Exclusive to the N64. An arcade version was ruled out.
- It would be a prequel. The characters would be children or teenagers.
- The mechanics would be to perfect techniques and perfect moves before moving on to the character chapters, as they were initially inexperienced in combat.
- It was inspired by Street Fighter Alpha and Karate Kid. It started with a few moves, and as gameplay progressed, experience was gained.
- It would use 3D models, similar to Tekken or Virtua Fighters.
- It would be an adventure game fused with fighting.
- The project was resumed in 1998, but development halted when key Perfect Dark designers focused on the game.
- The SNES port of Killer Instinct was considered a failure by the company, as it only sold a third of the total sales of Donkey Kong Country.
- Microsoft at the beginning of the Xbox 360, Made Rare cancel mature projects and focus on a younger audience... example Viva Piñata or Kameo... It affected Rare's creativity.
