Killzone: Shadow Fall "SNIPER" Multiplayer Gameplay

Looks like a generic shooter. Not seeing anything great here.

Yeah, shooters are very unpopular. I can't think of any popular shooters off the top of my head. There's no way is could appeal to more than a niche audie—ohwaitnoneofthatistrue.

Youtube personalites and so called "celebrities". Ugh.

Dude, I never heard of you. I hate annoying ass commentary, especially from those talking about how many subs and views they have. Shut the fuck up. No one cares. Just show us the game. That's what we're all interested in.

Plus it's off putting when someone is awful at a game. It is a new game on a new console. But by now, you should pretty much know how to play a console shooter.

Anyway, game looks hot. Launch can't come soon enough.

For a fast-paced multiplayer game, it seems to control very sluggish. THAT is not good at all. Main reason why Killzone 3/2 multiplayer never took off.

Seems and plays are two different things. You've only seen, and the guy in the video has played, and he says its smooth, fluid and responsive. I'm inclined to go with him.

A guy not hitting shit convinced you to buy the game? lol

Yes, exactly that.

I'm really excited to see a big AAA FPS that doesn't appear to have auto aim. I just think that playing an FPS where everyone has no auto aim is going to make the game more fun to play....

Wow, was not expecting that guys excitement so fast. Hit mute.

Cool game play. I'm just ready to play the game now. Don't need more footage.

I know... ;-)

I really want to see that uncompressed footage from Guerilla, what about you?
Or do you not want to see anything anymore until November 29?

Oh i do. Nov. 29 is waay too far away :(.
Can't wait to play it. Can i add you to my friendslist when the PS4 arrives?
Would be nice to play the game with a couple of Gaffers.

Well we had that with Perfect Dark Zero.

It was...an interesting experience without some aim assist. If I recall correctly, that was complicated further by some sensitivity problems.

I'm probably the worst joypad shooter player on the planet but I will play this MP mode just for the fact of no aim assist alone. Looks fun!

Yeah, the wait is going to be tough! "De laatste loodjes wegen het zwaarst" they say over here in The Netherlands. ;-)

Of course you can add me, my PSN name is the same as my GAF one. :)

well maybe compared to CoD or certain PC MP games it's not as snappy. But Killzone goes for a more realistic approach i guess (in body physics..and reaction time).
I know KIllzone 2 got a lot of heat, but KZ3 was so very different it's surprising to see the same complaints.

Watching this footage, this looks like straight up deathmatch, which is pretty boring to watch (opinion alert). Where's the shifting objectives? Anything new on that front? Or should we just expect KZ3 with more customization and no Operations?

So no Auto aim huh? So you will actually need to have some skill? Sucks to be me! But i'll still have fun getting my ass kicked and padding other gaffers K/D ratio. :D

Cool, will do, thanx.

?
Yeah i agree. But still it might be too slow for some.
I like it though. In fact... I don't really care. It's the same for every player. Just adapt and we're fine. A non issue really.

I would like KZ2-style warzone to come back, with the propaganda speaker and everything.

This is something I've been wondering about as well. They keep talking about "Warzones," but is this actually like Warzone from KZ2 + KZ3 with the changing gametypes mid-match?

Yes and no. There will be official Warzones to join, which will have the rotating gametypes, and then user created Custom Warzones, which can be set to any mode/any weapons (knives and stealth only, for example).

Warzones, with their trademark rotating mission modes, return to multiplayer with supercharged customization features. There are eight mission modes in total, four of which are new to Killzone. More importantly, you can customize these modes to your heart’s content and share your favorite settings with the rest of the community. We will regularly highlight popular and interesting community-created Warzones for you to try out.

What does that supposed to mean? Just curious what you think is "next-gen" about KZ:SF that no other FPS has.

1080p, 60FPS.

It just looks like it utilizing the hardware more then any other game right now. Similar to what Gears of War did. Gameplay wise it's not world shattering, it just feels impressive.

Now that we have HQ video footage of the PC, PS4 and Xbox One versions of BF4, I can say with a degree of confidence (based on what I've seen) that I think Shadow Fall looks a lot better. Maybe super sampled BF4 would compete, but I'm talking 1080p here instead of stupendously demanding resolutions and settings that require horrendously priced gear to run.

well heres VFX_Veteran to shit a killzone shadow fall thread again..

Oh, I'm sorry.. I shouldn't ask any questions, or voice any opinions if they appear to be negative in any KZ threads lest it be called "shitting" on the thread..

I guess none of these people are shitting on the thread right?

After days of watching BF PS4 mp footage, this looks really bland. Also he says Syphon Filter weird.

Looks alright.

I wasn't impressed.

BF4 will be the best launch FPS with this coming in a close second.

Absolutely. In terms of vehicular mayhem BF4 can't possibly be beat.
...

Not amazing looking but certainly doesn't seem bad.
I actually liked KZ2 MP, I played that for a couple of weeks, was pretty fun.

Graphics in this look ........ pretty good. It's interesting Jeff G @ GiantBomb has frequently mentioned the "frameyness" of the game on podcasts or other videos yet all the stuff released by the team is smooth looking, either he's pickier than I am or all the video leaked and official has been cherry picked.

Why do all the maps look like tight COD corridors, where are the large maps from KZ2 and Warzone maps from KZ3? This worries me.

they don't do that on every KZ:SF thread.

they don't do that on every KZ:SF thread.

Oh.. so I should just pick one and only ONE thread about KZ:SF to communicate my opinions? Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds? Every new thread has some people either complaining or praising the game. Some also compare it to the top FPS every thread. How about you stop being so defensive and enjoy the game when it comes out instead of caring about what I say about the game...

All you do in Killzone threads is shit them up with comparisons to BF4 and how much better you think the latter is. Not one post, but dozens. Over and over and rinse repeat. If you can't see why that would get grating after a while, well you're rather [insert kind word here]. Not to mention your opinions are rather awful (that's my own opinion lol).

Seconding that. If it gets the little things right, it will probably do for me everything that Halo and Perfect Dark did.

You know, I thought this was silly, but I was just looking back at some Halo CE footage for MP...and man, I do remember so many fun game variants... shotties only, snipers and pistols, rockets....

If Killzone can get that magic, then it could very well have those legs for the wider audience they've been looking for. Not stupid unlockable tiers and point pop ups and easy-peasy shooting, but genuinely fun gameplay with not-so serious modes for social fun.

The one difference though, is that Halo was designed without any classes and the maps were suited towards a variety of modes. Most notably, Slayer and CTF were fantastic depending on the maps.

I wonder if Killzone's maps can be so versatile that they can be fantastic for standard Warzones, yet be intense and fun enough for a whole variety of custom modes.

It seems having things like jetpacks, multi-tiered maps, vehicles, and even teleportation devices/jump pads could have enhanced that, but I guess that's too far for most people. I just really want the maps in this game to be multi-layered like KZ2 was in some ways.

Wouldn't it be lovely if we could customize where to place objectives...like with some kind of map editor?

I want to be able to control run speed, damage, etc... I wonder if the customization goes that far. They really need to show us the customization options, and then run a gameplay video of a mode created by some dude.

Meh...VFX didn't really shit this thread up. Not this time anyway. Pretty easy to just ignore certain folks though, no need to further derail conversation.

Vfx reminds me talesofwin. Both made similar posts, bringing up bf over and over. Tales was a junior, he got perma banned and now vfx shows up.

Shitting in sony exclusive games thread...order looks like a last gen game, killzone looks meh, bf god like

Same awful posts in every fucking thread

Sure.

Halo CE was a game that proved that FPS games could work on a console using a controller, and be fun while doing so. The AI was awesome, level design was kick-ass, and it was overall a great game. We had games like Perfect Dark and Goldeneye which "worked" but were incredibly clunky and feel pretty outdated if you were to go back and play them today. Halo CE on the other hand still feels great. In my opinion, it's the only reason console FPS games are as big as they are.

CE also had a huge competitive following because of the large skill gap in multiplayer. The game was incredibly easy to pick up and have fun, but also very difficult to master, something most (if not all) console FPS games lack in today's market. The amount of depth the multiplayer offered is insane.

Killzone looks beautiful. It's probably the best looking launch title for next gen. But it doesn't look to do anything innovative, and that's probably because it's part of a franchise. People can have their opinions, but I'm not really sure how you can compare a game has the mechanics of almost any other FPS in 2013 and say it will be the next Halo Combat Evolved.

Goldeneye did that first IMO.
