I simply can't wait to see how this game turns out. One of the best story tellers in film working with one of the best storytellers in gaming.

Also, these early screens are extremely promising.

Heh...you haven't seen the Xbox 360 shots yet.

Yeah I have...
I'll be happy with this gen for another year or two, and by then next gen will be cheaper.
Heck, if all next gen is just prettier graphics, I'll be happy with downgraded ports.
(I really don't mind the images shown here, NOT AT ALL.)

I hope this turns out well. I have always loved Kong and I want everything by Michel Ancel to turn out well. I just hope the movie's limitations (length, etc) don't hurt the game.

If Gamecube and/or PS2 is doing that, then OMG, this coming new generation is going to do MixCore's REBIRTH, no problem :D

It will get closer than one would expect but I doubt it will match the detail of the vegetation with the morning dew on a 1:1 level.

I saw the presentation at E3, and it looks fun as hell.
There are two game modes: A first person mode in which you play the main protagonist(Brody's character I presume), and have to use your wits, stealth and cunning to keep from being eaten by the inhabitants of skull island, improvising by using spears and arrows(to name a few) to kill your enemy.
One sequence had you speeding down rapids on a raft, only armed with a handgun to ward off two hungry T-Rexes, well placed shots keep them at bay and save you from being eaten by the predators.
Finally one of the dinosaurs races ahead of you and positions itself so that the river leads you right into his mouth. As you near the T-Rex King Kong swings in-between you and the dinosaur, at which point you take control of Kong and enter a 3rd person action mode and commence to beat the shit out of the T-Rexes.

King Kong can perform quite a few moves, he can quickly climb across vine covered canyon walls and swing onto elevated objects; all performed using some impressive life-like animation.

Fans of the original will also appreciate seeing the 'jaw hyperextension' fatality :)

Um, someone familiar with King Kong speed me up here. Whats with the Dinos? I thought King Kong was supposed to be climbing buildings, eating people, grabbing broads and spitting at helicopters. Like in Rampage.

His home in on Skull Island, where everything is BIG. Big monkey, big lizards, even big bugs and pirahnas. After his capture @ Skull Island he's brought back to NYC, where he goes ape-shit for the remainder of the story.

Only at the end. The explorers have to get him off the tropical island first.

EDIT: Damn, beaten to the punch.

Speaking of Rampage I talked to my brother about this after E3 when the new systems were shown.

I want a Rampage next-gen. Imagine climbing buildings which are built out of see-through glass and you can see tons of humans running around inside panicing. Then you punch in and grab a handful of screaming people and eat them. Meanwhile you have CG level helicopters flying around you and you can throw people and cars at them with realistic physics and the same thing with CG looking tanks on the ground. Then you go online and play co-op 3 player.

If anyone with lots of publishing money is reading this, please make ASAP thank you :)

Unfortunately Midway owns Rampage and after Romero and Killcreek fully destroy what's left of the Gauntlet name, they'll probably shit on Rampage if only as an excuse to put Killcreek's likeness in ANOTHER shitty game.

Is that even doable even with next-generation hardware? Even if it is, it sounds fiscally unfeasible.

Cool idea, though. I wanna see it too.

well, Im not saying this as an absolute, but, I would think that it would depend on the LOD, no? :)

does the game runs in fullscreen? looking at the screens, i dont think so and it looks like there will be some fake 16:9 mode like beyond good and evil. when thats the case is, then its devinatly a "no buyer" to me.

thats a lame reason not to buy a game, assuming the game is good.
