Kingdom Hearts II site open!

I think it's surprising that the announcement and trailer made such a huge splash... And then the hype just sorta flatlined.
 
It would suck this much if both KH2 and Grandia 3 launched before FF12.

I'm really starting to hate the "Enix" part in Square-Enix.

They will! FFXII won't come out this year, at least not in NA. Maybe Square Enix can pull off a late December launch in Japan.

I'd almost bet money that would happen. Grandia 3 is pretty much a lock for that, and KH is up in the air. And yes, Enix seems to be getting all of their stuff out. Weren't they the larger company in Japan before the merger though?
 
Enix isn't getting DQ5 out. :/

Wada said earlier this year that FFXII and KH2 would launch worldwide between this year and next, so atleast one of them isn't making it out this year. For the US atleast, its much more important to get KH2 out this year than FFXII.

Hey, I'll enjoy G3 (trailer kicked ass!) and KH2 but the wait for Final Fantasy 12 is just...

...unbearable.

It's Final Fantasy Twelve damnit. Should be their top priority.

I think it will come out this year. My guess is that FFXII is Sonys killer-app against 360. Hopefully E3 will tell.
 
The music from that 'trailer' on the site is pretty cool, after it picks up. Is there anything new here? It doesn't seem like it.
 
Yeah, looks increasingly likely that KH2 will come out this year and FF12 will be out next year :( Square, get your act together. Seriously.

Check the release dates:

Radiata Stories: October
Dragon Quest 8: November (not confirmed)
Kingdom Hearts 2: December (not confirmed)

Add Romancing Kingdoms to that list.

They aren't releasing any games in Summer, date for Grandia III, DQ8 are still unknown. Radiata Stories and Dragon Quest 8 should have been released in NA by now, they are making some dumb ass moves IMO :\

This game looks fucking great, but at this point I feel that every new piece of info or screenshot or movie of a game from Square Enix that's not FFXII is another twist in the knife. It's starting to REALLY hurt. T_T

Join the club. And god knows, it'll worse for us awaiting the PAL release. 2007 here we come.
 
Even though I'm sure I'll buy it right away, the last few FF's have continued to disappoint me.

KH has yet to disappoint me, so I'm honestly glad that this is going to get out the door first.

And still, I trust Square with FFXII - I'm sure they're actually working with this extra time and not pulling a Rare.

Why pray tell is this something we should realize at all?
And there better be some redoing to FFXII, after last year's E3, it dropped way down on my wanted list. DQ8 is the one that needs to get here soon.

The rest is eh. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: If SE hopes to make an honest-to-God FF-caliber franchise outta this, they NEED to drop the "let's-have-Sora-relive-the-Disney-movies" formula. It worked to an extent in the first one; it's getting annoying here.

So what do you want exactly? It's a Square-Disney crossover....
 
Those models are amazing - I can't see a single straight edge on them. Anyway, there's no excuse for not including a Lilo & Stitch level. Obviously, I can't be sure there isn't one, but I'm not optimistic.
 
I really hope they keep the same voice actors. KH is probably the only videogame I have ever played that didn't make the romantic angle totally laughable (FFX comes to mind) because of its awesome voice acting.

Also, Square said they are going to try and make Kingdom Hearts a major franchise, so does that mean it will always involve the same characters in the same universe? I was hoping they would wrap up this game and start a new story with new characters for KH3.

Creating a new story with new characters shouldn't be too hard; Lots of FF characters + Loads of Disney characters = Endless franchise milking! :P :D
 
I hope this engine makes it in atleast one more game. Several engines from impressive games this gen don't get reused for some reason. This one definetly should. Imagine Lunar 3 with it. :)
 
The game looks very good, beautiful screenshots. :)

And the music on the site made me watch the Deep Dive video again, I still love that video! It would be nice to see it in KHII in some form.
