What

KQ9 will kick all kind of asses. KQ6 was the best, KQ7 was crap and KQ8 was a RPG not an adventure game.

I can't wait, hope Sierra (Vivendi) doesn't shut it down.

roberta williams is gonna sue somebody!

p.d. "Girl in the Tower" is the best ending theme ever. "Way to Fall" has nothing on it

Graham has this "WTF" expression on his face.

I think I played through all of these except for 2 and 8, and I only played 1's remake. 4,5, and 6 were awesome. I remember climbing that damn wall in 6; God I was frustrated all to hell with that.

What

....KQ7 was crap ...

What? KQ7 fucking rocked. Characters, graphics, environments were awesome. Maybe my favorite KQ. KQ5 and KQ6 were great. KQ8 sucked so bad I didn't even finish it. It was trash, and I am a hardcore KQ fan.

I enjoyed KQ7 too, I wouldnt say it was my favorite but I really enjoyed it. KQ6 will always have a special place in my heart since it was the first PC game I beat.

A dog. With a human body on it.

I'm just staggered at the amount of effort that must have taken to design.

See, I'll always be a King's Quest fan, but shit like that really threatens my ability to harken back to the good ol' days when games were games and humans weren't putting dog carcasses on themselves.

KQ6 was fucking rediculous, as good as 5 was and as mediocre as 7 was, KQ6 had the right amount of puzzles, storyline to make it the best installment in the King's Quest series. The Land of the Green Isle was an awesome place, and I couldnt get over how cool the 7 dwarves were..haha

umm those are the guards of the Palace in the Green Isle...and that dog was badass..he helps you save Princess Cassandra(sp?)

What a great screenshot.

I've always been a fan of King's Quest, looking forward to this project.

I remember chatting it up with Roberta when she demoed King's Quest VIII to me at E3 in 1997. She seemed pretty depressed at the time.

Has anyone played the fan-made remakes of KQ1 and KQ2?

http://www.agdinteractive.com/games.php

I'm thinking about replaying them through this.

I have played through both and they are well worth the download. King Quest I is a pure remake using updated VGA graphics and King Quest 2 is a complete re-imagining of Romancing the Throne, and I would say that KQ2VGA is the sort of remake that all remakes should try to strive for.

Sorry but Space Quest series > KQ (QFG series > KQ as well but not better than SQ)

Agreed. The Space Quest series is are the best PC games ever. And don't forget Police Quest either. If you like crime dramas, Police Quest = cool.

This is why I loved King's Quest 6. By dressing up as a maid, you could enter the castle and beat the game... at just a bit passed the halfway point of the game. Sure you get the worst possible ending but I still couldn't believe it'd let you do that. I discovered you could sneak into the castle my first playthrough (when I was 10 :lol) but couldn't figure out the trick to beating it. Good times!

Man, I really enjoyed KQ6 as a youngling as well but damn.. I got stuck in the game, I can't remember where exactly, I can distinctly remember not getting into that gate with the cabbages outside though. I really wanted to reach the part with the minotaur pictured on the cover of the CD case.. :)

Maybe I'll go back and try and conquer it ;)

I love KQ6, I actually got all the points and solutions without using a FAQ (which seems impossible, but I was young and had a lot of freetime). Girl in the TO-WER, I NEED YOU, please TELL me WHERE you AAAARE~~~

I remember the game came on an obscene amount of 3.5 floppys, and there was also a CD version you could get that had VOICEOVER!!!!!

And they had an insert in the box pimping the "Girl in the Tower" song and asking you to call up local radio and request it.

Find-the-pixel gameplay doesn't appeal to me anymore, though. The adventure genre is dead to me.

:lol @ all the so called KQ fans making fun of the dog-head gaurds.

Does this game make Graham the king of the KQ6 islands? Because really, Alexander should be.

More love for KQ6. I think that game came on over 11 of those 5 inch floppy disks. One of the first PC games I completed and it was a near-magical experience. Great storyline and characters, and voice acting at the start of the game! Voice acting!

I still have this full box lying around somewhere.
