The girl required him to come up with a apology (where he doesn't admit he did anything wrong) for her to drop the charges. You would have to be crazy not to do that. He doesn't admit to anything and she agrees to drop everything because it was 'too hard' to go forward in a criminal case, yet somehow she is ready for a civil case where they can bring in almost anything about her and there are no protections for her. She lost any chance of credibility she ever had (pretty slim to begin with).

The whole thing was a joke and they need to start an investigation into the DA and yet another investigation of that racist sheriff's office.

Uh... you haven't been following this very closely have you? That piece of the statement was put in there by request of the girl herself(as reported in numerous news articles), this is all working towards the eventual financial settlement in the civil case.

Ok, I was going to say.. that statement is horrible. That's even worse then. It's basically like she/her attorneys said.. Ok, we'll do what we can to get the legal case dropped, if you will release an idiotic statement saying how sorry you are for her, and that she obviously "felt" like she was being raped, while you felt it was consentual.
