I wish they'd just cut to the chase and announce DW6 on PS3.

I was hoping for some SW2 pics and info. It was confirmed awhile ago by gamespot. But it'll probably creep up on us a few months before release like DW5 did.

DW5 is pretty damn close to GOTY for me so far. So far only RE4 is ahead of it in my eyes. A DW6 on PS3 would be hot digital sex at the rate they're going.

FWIW, I heard Dynasty Warriors on the GBA is pretty good and plays like Shining Soul.
Maybe Oni is just a codename for DW6

If anyone's noticed yet, Yukimura Sanada is in the corner of the Oni pic. So it might just end up being Samurai Warriors 2 or a strat game featuring SW characters

Samurai Warriors 2 has been announced? Well, it probably won't be out until next year Febuary in Japan and March for NA. We probably won't get info until November/December of this year. It seems like Koei keeps quiet on the Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors game until like 2 months before release. Kind of like Rockstar and GTA in that fashion.

Actually, some info has been revealed.

The DS version will be 2D and have chibi style characters in them. It may not suck (I hope not!) but it'll be tough for it to match the glory of the console or PSP version (My favorite version amazingly).

Sure you're not thinking of the GBA 2D DW with chibi characters? Sure? Cuz I don't think anyone has seen what DW DS looks like.

That being the case, Koei has still not shown the DS version of Dynasty Warriors, and it is unknown when plans to do so. With the series debuting on the advanced PlayStation 2 (a 1-on-1 fighting game called Dynasty Warriors was released on PSone, but the epic war brawler we know the series best as really started in Japan as Shin Sangoku Musou and was renamed Dynasty Warriors 2 in America), the team has had to start from scratch on the Nintendo DS. The handheld's relatively meager technical specs have mean that the team has had to redesign both the graphics and the gameplay of this edition. Speaking for the DS edition, Mr. Sugiyama said, "The DS can't do the higher quality graphics, so the 3D models are pretty tough. AS a result we decided to make a game that's simpler looking, and plays simpler too." This change in play may incorporate the touch screen, as has been rumored since the game was announced, but Sugiyama did not go into details on this aspect.
