It seems like a no brainer move for them to license the IP to a studio like the Digimon franchise to make similar RPGs.
Make your own duelist, follow a story with yu gi and the gang, time travel shenanigans, can duel anywhere with the wrist deck holder, monsters appear in full 3D, etc.
Use the original TV show release decks plus rules, and throw in some online PvP shenanigans with tournaments, and the like.
