Korn & Evanescence Tour

Taking my daughter to this show on Saturday. She digs Korn, I dig Evanescence. Her first concert ever, and my first since Slipknot ‘19.

Should be a good time. Evanescence’s latest album is pretty frickin good, but I’ve been so out of touch I didn’t even learn of its existence until last week.

Pretty stoked. That is all. Woop woop.

Definitely take some earplugs. I went to a Korn concert like 6 months ago I think, and we had to leave after 3 songs.

I had ear plugs, and I've been to literally hundreds of concerts. The sound was so insanely loud it literally sounded like a weapon. I had ear plugs in and was physically holding my ears shut and it was wayyyyyyyyyyyy over the top loud so we just left. I think the sound guy literally messed up something, so it's likely the sound will be normal at your show.

I am not a fan of Korn, but I saw Evanescence once and they were good.

I still think the original version of Bring Me To Life (without the CANT WAKE UP fake Linkin Park dude) is superior to the album version. That is all.

Wow you're right that sounds incredible! Though collabs help get artists big and that one definitely did. I would argue that half of remixes and collabs are worst than the originals but attaching big names (or mixing genes) to projects does wonders.

We ain't outta here in ten minutes, we won't need no rocket to fly through space
Fallen was a big album for me when I was like 12 or 13, still never managed to see them and stopped listening after a while. Had a HUGE crush on Amy Lee, but who didn't?

Hoping they get added to Download festival next year since we already have tickets. Korn should be headlining that thing by now, they had a bigger crowd than one of the headliners this year.

It's been about 20 years since I've seen Korn live- Once with Stained, and another time with Orgy. Korn's been my favorite band since 1994...they've helped me through some dark times.

I love Evanescence, too (especially the newest album "The Bitter Truth")...but I've never been able to see them live. Maybe I can change that soon?

I hope everyone who gets to see this tour has an absolute blast! ❤️

That’s awesome! They are playing by me next weekend but I can’t make it. I did see Bush and Alice In Chains last Sunday and it was awesome. Felt like a teenager again. Have a blast bro.

I'm going to that this weekend. Girlfriend is taking me. She's younger than me but likes seeing all the 90s bands.

Then my brother's band playing in September.
Then Sunny Day Real Estate
Then Health/Perturbator/Street Sects
Smashing Pumpkins/Jane's Addiction/Poppy
Then Meshuggah

Missing Helmet/Quicksand because I'll be out of town :(

They put on a great concert. Gavin Rosdale came into the crowd and went all around like a maniac. came right to our seats.

I absolutely love Korn's first and third albums (Korn & Follow the Leader). I just can't get i to their other stuff, but those two are among my favorites of the 90s.

Evanescence is hands down one of my favorite bands of the last 20 years. My only complaint is that they went eleven or so years between studio albums. Typically I'm not much into covers/remakes so Synthesis doesn't count since it isn't new material. But The Bitter Truth is my album of the year for 2021. It's still getting endless replays here.

Between the two bands Evanescence is the big draw for me on this tour. Amy Lee writes some damn good music and has one hell of a voice.

Weird combo. But I guess it could and will work.
Not too weird. They've performed together before, and debuted around the same time. I believe they are both considered "NuMetal", and are not too dissimilar in subject matter.

It works.

Korn is smart to avoid Murderapolis. If I want to go to a concert, I need to take a decent trip to see one. I'm not willing to go downtown anymore. Too much crime.

I have yet to see a Korn concert. The problem is, they are still too popular and their concerts are in huge arenas. I like smaller gigs where I can actually see the band up close with my own eyes. The last time they were in town the seats available were upper deck nowhere near the stage. I don't get how that could be any fun.

Check this out. My fave cover of Wake Me Up Inside. Don't forget to turn on the subtitles:

I was front and center for Korn at the Summer Sanitarium 2000 tour and again for Ozzfest a few years after. That was a lifetime ago.

I don't know - I found out about Evanescence because the mp3 of the original version was going around Limewire/Kazaa so it seems they were already gaining a sizeable following. And then sometime later the music video came out and that's when I heard the album version, much to my confusion lol

I guess we'll never know if they would have been as popular without the CANT WAKE UP guy, but I like to think it would've. I read that Amy didn't actually want him on the song but it was a compromise with the record label.

I always found him a weird fit, His performance in the video is weird, too. He does that weird Mick Jagger thing and, for whatever reason, was interrupted during his “THERE MUST BE SOMETHING MORE!” rage moment when they cut the camera back to Amy.

And the whole writhing around on the ledge after he grabs her arm thing is weird, too.

Yeah. Weird.

KoRn’s stuff sounds much more disturbing the older I get. My first explicit album was Life is Peachy and I was 11 or 12 at the time. The store clerk refused to sell it to me, but my friend changed his mind.

I’m going to see Mozart and Salieri perform. I just need to choose a proper frock-coat. I don’t want to look silly. 🎩

Saw korn again a couple of months ago in Belgium. Sound is still incredible but the concert pacing was terrible. Like they started with 3 bangers and had the whole festival jumping and suddenly they start with the new disc songs which nobody gave a fuck about and totally broke the mood. Then they ended with another 3 bangers in a row but they already fucked up the mood. Shame because the bangers sounded incredibly good.

At one point they even asked if people wanted to hear the new songs and there was silence... I get that they need to promote new albums and such but wow, maybe pace yourselves better, sing a couple of the new ones at the start and then from there till the end just bangers all around..

Today I learned both these bands are still going.

I only ever had the follow the leader album back in the day, the only album of there's I've listened too.

I remember when Korn released Word Up and I genuinely thought it was the scissor sisters for quite a while, as it sounded like them, then one day the person on the radio said it was Korn, I was pretty surprised due to how different it sounded from the album mentioned above.

That being said the Cameo original is still a lot better imo.

Great show. Both Korn and Evanscence were terrific. Amy's voice is as amazing as ever. I even wept a little when she played My Immortal. Don't judge me.

Kid had a blast, I had a blast, we're both half deaf and raspy as shit.

Awesome. (y)(y)

I love that these old bands are putting out new music and touring again.

NOFX is coming to Canada for the first time ever in a couple weeks, and I'm really thinking about going.

I've seen Korn four times live. Great band, lots of energy on stage and a plethora of classic songs. Not familiar with their recent work but I was a huge fan of them up until Untouchables.
