Has anybody taken the correspondence courses offered through the Kubert School and what are your thoughts on them?

I've seen the materials and read up on it quite a bit. It's a TOUGH curriculaum, and very harsh judgement from the Kuberts. But it's just as good as going to the school, minus the 12+ hours a day of drawing boot camp.

It's a bit expensive, but I know if I had the extra money I'd get back into my penciling and get some submissions sent in. God, I'm so out of practice.

To be honest, the best experience I've had is doing your stuff in your own style and taking it to shows to have the artists critisize them right there.

Saurus if youare an artist I wouldn't mind seeing your stuff. Maybe I could offer a few pointers or technique ideas.

I wonder how the Kuberts feel about manga-oriented art. I know a lot of those old-school western artists detest the stuff, but I find it easier to work with when dealing with softer-looking or female characters

Belgurdo.. good question. As long as the story flows well and the art is solid throughout I dont see where there would be a problem. Besides cant be any worse than Joe Caseys work on New Invaders... my wife could do better art than thatd rivel.

I'm pretty out of practice myself, haven't done any sequential art in years! One of my new year resolutions was to get back into drawing again. Just noticed tonight that the correspondence courses are actually on sale for one more day ($80 off...ends 1-5-05) so I figured might as well pick one of them up.
