It is about time I read more Vonnegut. I've only read Slaughterhouse Five, and that was over a year ago. Is there any order I should read them in? Which ones are definitely his best?

I have only read Slaughterhouse Five as well. I didn't know he was well known for any other books though. I'd like some reccomendations also...

If you're looking for funny and entertaining, I would recommend Breakfast of Champions. For plot, Cat's Cradle. Bluebeard is good too, but not as good as the other two.

Bluebeard, Sirens of Titan, and Cat's Cradle. Timequake is pretty good as well. I've just started reading Player Piano and it seems damn good as well.

Bluebeard is one of my favorite books of all time, period.

"We are here to help each get through this thing, whatever it is."

Was Bluebeard about the one-eyed arist, Rabo Karabekian? If so, that was really good.

The way the man writes is so unique. Not only does he constantly break the story up into short, short sections, but they are all written to have a punchline.

I've also read Slaughter House 5, Breakfast of Champions, and Bagambo Snuff Box. I think I enjoyed Slaughter House 5 the most, but it was first exposure.

All the Kilgore Trout stuff just slays me.

The majority of his books are must-reads. Man's a literary genius.

I disagree. Apart from Slaugherhouse and Cat's Cradle (ok, and Monkeyhouse), he's a bit flat. Just an opinion. The others never did it for me.

needs to show more effort.
cat's cradle is a quick read and is hilarious.

siren's of titan is another of my favorites. I think its the better book of the two but not as funny.

I think both are much better than slaughterhouse 5

edit: I've read a lot of welcome to the monkey house as well. I'm not as much of a fan of his short stories as I am of his books.

also, he was the main speaker at my cousin's college graduation. And he was awesome.
