Ok, so I'm coming over to US for just one afternoon next week, my last chance to do some shopping before E3.

In San Francisco I have no trouble finding great places to shop - just go downtown. LA is another story, however. The best I've done so far was West Beverly mall (or something like that).

I'll be staying at The Standard on Sunset. I'm looking places to pick up

- PSP + UMD videos
- iPod shuffle
- some FCUK gear
- some Abercrombie gear

Some addresses I can hand to the cab driver very much appreciated.

Thanks!

Abercrombie and French Connection? You can find those brands at any mall in America. And the same exact clothes at every store! :lol

helped a brotha out on multiple separate occasions!
You can probably find a PSP at either a EB, Gamestop, Gamerush, Best Buy, Sears, Target, Toys r' Us...I can't imagine it being too hard to find.

You can probably find a shuffle at one of the three Apple Stores in the L.A. area. There's the one at The Grove, the one at the Glendale Galleria, and the one at the Third St. Promenade. I suggest you call before you head out to make sure they have them in stock and that you check out the one at The Grove first since traffic isn't usually that bad, unlike the traffic towards the Glendale Galleria.

Can't help with the FCUK.

Out of the top of my head there's a Abercrombie at The Grove, the Glendale Galleria, and Universal Citywalk. The one at Citywalk is the biggest and theres a EB a bit farther up ahead.

I think you want to go to the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. They have an Apple Store and locations for both FCUK and A&F, all within walking distance of wherever you might be dropped off.

The PSP might be the only thing hard to find in that area -- I thought there was a Toys 'R Us nearby, but the nearest location seems to be in Culver City. You should bribe a local GAFer to front the $$$ for the PSP and movies and just meet you at Third Street for a beer while you're there...

There is a Toys-R-Us near the 3rd St Promenade. Its off of...uhh Santa Monica Blvd? Its across the street from a Tower's Records, south of the Apple Store. Unless it recently shut down. There is also a EBGames in the mall section at the south end of the 3rd St Promenade.

edit: there is also a Circuit City (Arizona St) off othe the 3rd St Promenade. It might have PSPs too....

Too dumb for the internet
The Toys R US was on the left, before you hit the promenade on Santa Monica, but it has been a bit since I've been down there, so who knows if it's still there. I thought it might have been a two story one, but I might be mixing that one up with the one in NYC, near times square.

Excellent directions, thanks guys!

I think I'll head to Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. I was there last time after 2003 E3, but I must have got so drunk in the plane to London that I forgot how good it's for shopping!

Last time we rented a car, but this trip is too hectic to do so. I wonder how much a cab from Sunset to Santa Monica will set me back...

CVX - I have a Shuffle, but I have three of them on order whenever I come over (114 eur vs. 149 eur). I have a PSP too, but I want to get the US one so I can pick up US UMD Movies from the bargain bin they'll inevitably end up in - they're great for plane trips as my Powerbook battery can take only a bit over a movie, and I happen to have *three* batteries for my PSP (I believed the 2h game time rumours...).

Heh heh, I'm not that different from you then. :D

I splurged on a US PSP in addition to a Japanese one during their respective launches. I also have three iPods; a regular 20GB 4G, a shuffle 512MB and a 4G mini 2G. Pondering a photo to complete the collection. :lol
