Well its that time again.... Another round of vgcats goodness for everyone here.

You know, sometimes I totally disagree with GAF about the funny (or lack thereof) in VGcats, but god....that just sucked ass.
 
Hey, someone didn't like a vgcats comic. And they didn't like it SO much, that they just felt COMPELLED to make an entire thread about it, to share how unfunny it is. Maybe we'll have post after post talking about how unfunny vgcats is, since it's a brand new source of discussion here at GAF.

Hey I know. Now someone post a Penny-Arcade strip! Maybe if it doesn't hit you over the head with directly video-game-related comedy, we can all talk about how unfunny it is! Because I know that when I see a comic that doesn't make me ROFFLE all over myself, it damages me so deeply that I must share my outrage with all those around me. God forbid subtle humor or even clever writing be enough to amuse my scattered mind.

OH I KNOW. MAYBE IF SOMEONE COULD KILL A HORSE, WE COULD ALL TAKE TURNS BEATING IT WITH A STICK. YOU KNOW, JUST TO MAKE SURE IT'S ACTUALLY DEAD. CAUSE YOU KNOW, SOMETIMES HORSES THAT HAVE BEEN DEAD FOR YEARS STOP BEING DEAD AND NEED TO BE HIT SOME MORE AMIRITE.
 
They don't even understand the art of revealing the punchline at the right time.

Pacman was revealed two frames too early.

when those stupid fucking cats arent in the strip its visually appealing. but theyre just not funny at all, have no clue what funny is, and i cant say for sure but im pretty confident they will never learn to be funny. its just a really, really, really, really bad cartoon.

for the sake of gaf i think posting vgcats should be bannable. that's how bad it is.

What are you getting at exactly? PBF's worst or even PA's worst is nowhere near as bad or embarassing as VG Cats. Look at the above posted PA for example. It's not really funny, but at least it probably isn't making anyone cringe at how stupid it is. That PA comic, like many others, isn't even going for over the top humor like VGC often does (and often fails at).

I dunno. Maybe the next VG will have a zany and original take on The Matrix's Bullet Time! Or maybe some TOTALLY OBSCURE yet fresh references to a little movie called Terminator 2. "Hasta la vista, baby!" and "I'll be back!" I'm sure there's a goldmine of material there!

As if that's a valid excuse to not criticize a bad webcomic when we see one. Hey you guys. I just saw a terrible "blockbuster" movie the other day, but since I haven't made my own shitty multi-million dollar budget film I can't say anything about it!
 
At least most people here like Perry Bible Fellowship.

Actually, it doesn't matter since they're both terrible.

I think my favorite videogame-themed comic strip is 'Hsu and Chan' by Norman Scott. Great art in that one

I think what really kills me is that it does have a lot of potential to be funny. As someone pointed out, tipping off that it was Pac-Man beforehand just seems wasteful. How on earth was that panel useful? Scott really should really try to do flash comics or something.

You mean the utter and complete ripoff of Milk & Cheese that plays out like a fucked up combination of Penny Arcade's most awkward moments and VGCats' most egregiously overlong comics? Jesus. I'd rather read Ctrl-Alt-Delete's entire run. Twice.

While Scotch's comment is entirely valid in principle, it's been well-established that GAF exists to hate, not to laugh or play. Everything can't be a Reggie Fils-Aime Photoshop, after all.

He can see into the room from the window, sort of like how in Pac-Man you can exit at one end and emerge on the opposite.
 
What's with all the hate toward hating on webcomics? Don't you guys have anything better to do than criticize what other people spend their time criticizing?
