Landscaping help

I’m about to buy a commercial swingset for the kids and need to level a section of my backyard. Videos are scant on YouTube and the ones that do exist are vague on how you set level at the ground. Any professional or amateur landscapers on GAF?

When I was putting up a shed last year. I used mainly twine, a level and a measuring tape and always mark your grounds.

Edit - I would imagine you would do the same for the area where your support poles for your swing set, you excavate it, level it with the twine and some wood, fill it with concrete and then level it again.

(I'm a amateur).

I dug out and levelled off an acre in summer, we moved into our country house and will grow potatoes.

Basically used my neighbours tractor, moved a bunch of ground away and then used one of the big round ground flateners things to level it off. Then we used hand tools to turn up the soil and sweeten it with minerals for next spring.

Just eyeballed it and then me, my dad, my wifes dad and my cousin did it in three days. Over an acre and it was already sloped

You either have to raise or lower the uneven part. If it's a lot and you can afford it, hire a landscaper or someone with the heavy equipment to do it. If it's dirt, you will not want to leave it just bare dirt for the swingset area, so either wait for the lawn to grow or plan on what you want to fill it with on the surface. Gravel is common, affordable, and painful when you fall. You can get mulch. Wood is cheaper, but is a mess for a while with the bad smells and moisture. You can also get shredded rubber, which does last a lot longer, but also smells for a while.

Edit... A simple way to raise it, go to the highest point and hammer in a stake. Tie a string to it and stretch across where you want to raise and tie it off on another stake. Get a bubble level and hold it up to the string and move the string up or down the stake until level.

Thanks all. I think I just need to level the legs.. it’s an arch post swing set with 5” polls. I like the idea of placing a block at the leg locations and using a long piece of wood to level. Now how do I get a 12/13’ piece of lumber..I have a truck but it’s a 5’ bed.
