No surprise on RE4.
Awesome on DMC3.
Not awesome on GT4. Screw that 8.5 score. Wrong in every way.

But, diffr'nt strokes!

GT4 not much innovation? What do they want, street racing in a GTA world?

No surpirse on RE4....since GI got the exclusive last year and their friggin quote is on the box on the game :P

Hell yea for RE!!! Very deserving.

I don't get the gripe at GT score. It has more content and graphics, no online or damage modelling or improved AI. Seems about right, as I wait to buy it :)

Comments about MVP PLEASE!!!!

Did they knock off any points for the blatant blocking of the the Momo Force wheel?

Ho you're soooo witty.
Any modern racing game without online deserves to be knocked down 10%/1point. Anyone who would disagree with this sure never played a racing game online before.

"GT4 not much innovation? What do they want, street racing in a GTA world?"

online racing, crashes, damage, ability to leave the track, more parts upgrades and customization, less load times (or is that just my PSX being a turd?), world race leagues where the best times are clocked , downloadable ghosts, etc etc...

perhaps they are saving the uber score for the online version that we have been promised later this year that's probably never gonna see the light of day? ;)

I agree. But do you also agree that racers that don't have FF support should have points taken off? Much like online games, racing wheels are something that's going to be used by a small amount of people that play the game but to those people its extremely important.

I did not say anything in that kinda stupid FF review topic. It seems a bit harsh to remove 10 points because some people might not be able to play a game with a never officially supported product. In a way it's very wrong to go out of his way to REMOVE support for such a product though. I'm sure that if there wasn't gamerankings, people would care less about this score anyway ;)
Online is MUCH bigger than support for a limited edition force feedback wheel. Online matters for hundreds of thousands of people. I (and I know lots of people who did that) have played PGR2 single player for about 40 hours, which for me is excellent, but online I clock more than 200 hours. I never in my life played a game that much, and I never even played with the online time attack challenges. That would have been the same for GT4 if it had been online. Once you have unlocked all cars/tracks, what will be the point in playing anymore ? The AI is not good enough to make a true challenge, and beating his own track records is only good for some time.
I will buy GT4, but I don't expect spending 200+ hours playing it without any online mode.

The question really didn't have anything to do with the Momo topic. It's more of a comparison between 2 things that has a very limited appeal at the moment (online and wheels). GT4 will likely sell over 7m units, yet it'd be lucky to have 2m people go online with it. I think its a fair comparison given both having a limited appeal, but to those people it appeals too its extremely important.

In terms of the xbox, consideing it doesnt even support force feedback at an SDK level, it doesnt apply. Its just that we are talking GT4 here, its been touted by the devs themselves as being "the" driving simulator.

In the end it all gets evened out, hype dies, falacies are revealed and fun is to be had. You cant please everyone.

Woha I must have been still half asleep not to understand this was a jab at Forza, I just thought SSX was talking about the whole FS review debacle. Silly me.
My point is still valid though, compare how many people would pay $150 for a FF wheel, and how many people would play the game online. A 1:100 ration does not seem ridiculous.

True, and while I regret Sony's decision to remove whatever online coding they had let me point out that while online gaming matters to hundreds of thousands of people GT4 sells to millions and millions of people... so in the greater scheme of things... it's only small percentage of folks.

But it's still a loss nonetheless... though I know I won't miss it.

Well, I would not say between 10 and 20% of the buyers is not a "small percentage of folks", at least compared to those who will buy a FF wheel.
But I guess that's just me ;)

I can't believe you compared online support to a particular brand of ff wheel :lol There's no limit to fanboy spin on this board, no matter the system.
