The game has now just won a new trailer, which doesn't show much, but at least confirms a launch window. Layers of Fears will be officially released during June 2023. Layers of Fears is described as a "new version" of the first two games in the franchise already released by the developer, being a kind of recreation. The title promises news in addition to being in production in a new engine.

I loved the original....but man it's weird that it's getting a reboot already. Just seems weirdly new for a reboot to me, but hell maybe I'm just getting old quick.
