Star Wars: Zero Company - Official Release Window Trailer

If it is as cool as Xcom Enemy Unknown, I will be playing this. But no other game ever felt like that game. Like I loved the story.

Don't instantly hate it, that's a good sign for a SW product. Very little info to be gleaned from that snippet of gameplay. But they've got my attention.

I am not much of Star Wars fanatic (yet), but that franchise is still fascinating to me.
If you're only interested in the games, you can't really go wrong. Anymore than that though, I wouldn't touch any literature/film made after the Disney buyout. Stick to the old EU or what they call "Legends" now which is miles ahead of anything they've come out with.

Was going to hate on this but trailer gave me nothing to hate on, looks like x-com with a star-wars skin.

I waited the whole 2 minutes for the Debra Wilson reveal only to not have one, those characters in the CGI trailer actually look quite cool

TLDR; 👍

I miss games having such a simple pitch without having to subvert anything. It's Xcom + Starwars with seemingly very little to no BS thrown in as "artists vision". Feels like how most game announcements were when we took it for granted.

We've gotten so many of these XCOM clone games since EU came out that it's tough to get excited for another one. Hopefully this does something interesting or new but even graphically it looks 10 years old.

I'm going to keep an eye on this one, but I've passed on pretty much every Star Wars game in the last 20 years..!

Was hoping that Star Wars : Outlaws would be decent, but that seemingly turned out to be the usual Ubisoft schlock.

(edit - I'm not counting Lego Star Wars games, as those are just Lego games)

Quite decent trailer and the characters actually look cool.
I was surprised that there wasn't any girlboss in the trailer :messenger_grinning:.
What little gameplay was shown looks good.

Would have liked to see some more gameplay, but what they showed looks fun.
If it's actually focused on the combat and doesn't add some unnecessary "bonding" stuff like Midnight Suns I might get this.

I thought it was going to release this year though. Idk, look like the type of game you'd want to announce and release within 6-8 months, not something to announce a year in advance.

No bossy afroamerican female characters? Guess they're leaving that surprise for later. ;)

I'll definitely play any bigger budget XCOM copycat.

Not gonna complain about a Starwars XCOM game but honestly, I thought it would look and feel like a juggernaut AAA game.
This looks alright.

I'm really happy that this takes place in the Prequal Era (My favorite Era), I'm gonna to wait six months to buy this due to wanting to see if there is any issues at launch

I love star wars. I like a lot of the star wars games, like;

Rogue Squadron
Jedi Academy
Force Unleashed
Phantom Menace (PS1)

I hate all the new garbage, jedi survivor, outlaws, the new shitty movies and shows (andor and rogue one some exceptions).

Lets pray this is for a mature audiende and has quality.

We saw Bo Katan in the early screenshots, but we don't see her anymore in any images or the trailer, I thought she would be one of the main character, but I guess not... too bad. We'll see though.
I'm curious about the game, but I already hate that it will have the % hit / miss from xcom.

I tried soooooo many times to get in to it but always end up getting bored and not finished the movie.
Well, I was just talking in general about franchise, how big it ended up being over the years, with all those characters, side stories, setting, etc...

Everything that is big and long has its ups and downs, of course, but overall, I can't help but being amazed at the sheer size of this IP.

Star Wars Zero Company surprised us. When ‪@EAStarWars‬ invited PC Gamer to be one of the first outlets in the world to play their new game, Ted Litchfield went in with high expectations - a Clone Wars tactics game made by former XCOM and Jedi Survivor devs is a slam drunk - but even these were surpassed. It blends the familiar combat of XCOM with sumptuous third-person action-adventure storytelling, and a healthy dose of Mass Effect style RPG management, and could be a game of the year contender.

00:00 - Intro
01:01 - A Clone Wars story
02:41 - Mass Effect style RPG elements
04:42 - Third-person action-adventure meets XCOM
05:38 - Who is making Zero Company?
08:57 - Combat feels deep
10:55 - Even named characters can die
12:08 - All astromech squad? Sure!
13:09 - Final thoughts

The upcoming strategy title has reportedly been classified in Australia, Brazil, and South Korea, while additional unpublished ratings may also exist depending on the policies of individual agencies. The Korean rating was issued following deliberation on April 30, 2026, after the title was submitted earlier that month by EA Swiss Sarl.

According to the South Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee, Star Wars Zero Company received a 15+ rating due to "realistic depiction of violence" along with the presence of vulgar language and profanity during gameplay. The classification description states that weapons, attacks, and explosions are portrayed realistically within the game's combat systems.

The Korean filing also describes the project as a "single-player turn-based simulation game set in the Star Wars universe." Examples of profanity listed in the rating documentation include words such as "b****d" and "d**n."

I used to not like stateegy games but the two subgenres I do like are RTS and XCom-like strategy games so I'm up for this.

And they say Mass Effect too? Sounds too good to be true.

Oh it most definitely is.

In fact, Chewbacca used to say "fascinating" whenever they came across something interesting. Or when Sith Inquisitors yell "FOR THE EMPEROR! HE PROTECTS!"

But don't get me started with the third episode where they have to figure out what to do with Reapers and there's only thee colored choices.

Well if you have any questions about Star Wars, you just ask me. I know everything about it.
