League of Legends Championship Series: Season 6

I'm going to be honest, Europe is so fucking boring this split the only thing I actually care about is whether or not Forgiven can single-handedly save Greece's economy.

Reading chat is way more interesting than this game. ''Kill Betsy, you will get a pepsi'' and '' Lose to freddy, get your passport ready'' just make me LOL.

Lucian, Thresh, Victor, Corki, Graves etc.

Every. Single. Game.

Does riot have any idea how painfully boring this is?

The meta is always going to have top picks that are pick/banned every game until they are nerfed/other champs are buffed. The bigger problem is the first 20 minutes of every game being pve. That needs to be dealt with and I'm certain riot knows this.

I started watching since season 4 and it's been all Corki Lucian and Thresh since then and a few others. There are probably 50-60 champions I haven't seen more than once if ever.

At a professional level of play, some traits are just really important to have access to (mobility, playmaking/breaking, pick potential, terrain control) and so the champs that have those things in their kit are important picks even if they aren't that strong. Contrariwise, if you don't have those things in your kit, even if you're good you won't necessarily get picked. Lee Sin is a great example of a champion that has so much mobility and playmaking that he still sees picks in season 6 LCS despite being one of the lowest win rate junglers in the game right now.

For the specific champs you mention, Corki and Lucian have very strong dashes and windows of power that differ from other ADCs (Corki has shifted around a bit, but he has always provided more midgame magic damage, and Lucian has always been the most mobile early aggro ADC). Thresh just does everything a support needs to do at least a little bit and so is a safe pick into most comps and situations. (cf. Elise jungle.)

I just watched the new episode of TSM Legends and Cloud 9 Genesis. It blows my mind the difference in the two teams right now, the comms of TSM feel like a solo Q team talking on Skype for the first time. Cloud 9's comms sounded so clean and efficient with Hai shot calling the micro and teammates communicating info to everyone. There is a clear hierarchy with Hai being clearly at the "top" of comms while others just communicate info on a lower level. It's not even like Hai is yelling and the others are whispering, there is just a clear hierarchy somehow. Then watch TSM's shotcalling and there is a clear disconnect between the players.

Well... Yeah it could have been more exciting.

I don't even just mean in terms of the actual games. None of the teams feel like they have an "identity" to speak of. I've watched every game this split, but if you asked me what team (insert random European player) is on, I probably couldn't tell you.

Even the EU pre-recorded spots are terrible. What was even the point of that one with Rekkles? "I used to have tons of fun with the guys last season, we'd joke and have whacky antics and... uh... the new roster, that doesn't happen anymore, really." Oh, well, thanks for the completely unsolicited depression Riot, are you not screening these segments or was this really the least sad interview you could get with the guy?

I seriously care more about Forgiven's personal problems than everything else in EU LCS at the moment, and I don't even particularly like Forgiven as a player or care about his team. It's just, well, something in this sea of bland.

I guess I'm super excited bout all the LCS broadcasts I watch because I love the announcement crew (although I dont know all their names). The broadcasting feels so top notch

And I can easily watch older vids spoiler free via the lodEventVids link yall gave me

Granted I'm super casual. I really only watch IMT games. I only watch EU games live streams if it happens to be on. But yeah, I'm really all about IMT this season on NA side. Also interested in getting caught up on some Korean games

those champs arent seen because they're garbage.

Lol! Yeah these pro teams cant afford to screw around apparently

Reading chat is way more interesting than this game. ''Kill Betsy, you will get a pepsi'' and '' Lose to freddy, get your passport ready'' just make me LOL.

I usually always hide the chat when I watch the streams live. just feels like a stream of spam to me mostly and funny pics. But interesting to read some people enjoys them a lot

Cloud 9's team has been mostly the same for several years now, and although Hai has bounced around from position to position he's always been the leader and pretty much directly managed every action everybody else took in the game. There are weaknesses to a command-and-control style -- just look at them when Hai isn't playing -- but, you know, there's a reason military units are organized that way. For immediate and coordinated tactical responses, it's a pretty strong approach.

By contrast, it's not just that TSM has a mostly new team. No two players on TSM have played together before this season. It really IS a solo q team, just, you know, a solo q team with one of the best players in America at each role.

props; well thought out post there. Very true I think

Very excited to see Echo Fox bring the fight to TSM and IMT this week. Their record looks average, but since getting Froggen and kfo in the team for the last two weeks they've gone 4-0 against Renegades, NRG, Liquid and Impulse and could well make playoffs.

Welp. GG.

It's amazing how much different this game could have been if Lourlo didn't have his flash or Procxin hit his Pounce or Swipe. Lame.

Hard to watch as a TiP fan.

That was a pretty clever play, knowing that Froggen would go to clear the raptors, to clear all but a small and then gank him at the camp.

edit: Doublelift getting executed to get those hits on the turret. Totally intended. They didn't need him for those 20 seconds anyway.

Pretty good game by TSM, Froggen playing well though. I really don't think Gragas and Malphite together are a particularly good combo. Their profile is too similar except for the part where Gragas's ult prevents Malphite from ulting (and in fact I don't think we even saw a Gragas ult that game). TSM's team kind of just generally stronger at poke and teamfight, no reason to lose.

#TILTHUNI.

If anybody can do it, Darshan's Fiora can.

Udyr is a potentially okay pick here if the plan is to dump on Gragas hard early and steal his entire jungle. Outfarming ReignOver is kind of a high bar though.

I'm really unconvinced by the Ezreal though. Seems like exactly the wrong power timing for the rest of the team.

Okay, that's a pretty tilted Huni. Great play so far from CLG -- Aphro Barding it up to keep the jungler behind, they get the dive bottom first, and then ReignOver tries to Immortal it up by getting it back with aggression and ends up feeding another kill. Casters pointing out that Darshan's flash under the turret shows he knew there might be a gank incoming and without it he'd have died to ReignOver and probably given up the double kill.

All eyes on WildTurtle now.

edit: Wow! RO down again. The Udyr is real. This is going to be a big test of Immortals.
