Recently 81 year ol Dave Cutler gave a 3 hour interview to a retired old school microsoft engineer. The entire interview is fantastic and worth watching, but there's a brief segment where they discuss xbox os.

David led the development of windowsNT, he was a lead on azure and also worked on xbox. At 81 years he still works and codes daily as a senior technical fellow at Microsoft.
