Unless you're like 50, stop trying to act cool. I started playing with space lego sets in the late 70's and sets certainly weren't new then.

If your beef is with "new" pieces then that doesn't make sense either, since they've been introducing new pieces on a yearly basis since as long as I remember.

And if you were a bucket-only lego builder then I hope you quickly covered up the images on the outside of the bucket to prevent your imagination from being infected by ideas.

Trying to act cool?

I played with Lego in the 70s ... before Space Lego was introduced (which came out in '79 or '80 iirc). New pieces don't bother me, but fully custom sets designed to build one thing, do. It's contrary to what Lego is about.

Though I suppose these Lego kits are aimed at adults, and go well with all the awesome pre-posed action figures, that sit around gathering dust...

224 Gulden, damn I knew it was expensive, must have been around 8 years old back then!

Contrary to what Lego is about????

I've seen some good jokes in my day, but that takes the cake.

Why don't you look up the ratio of lego sets made to construct one object vs. the number of buckets of random pieces??? Lego's bread and butter sales are the sets, plain and simple. I am willing to bet they outnumber the buckets 1000x1. (There are a lot of lego sets out there)
