Lego Horizon Reviews/Impressions embargo November 13th

Oh yeah, 13th November. Stupid yanks.

As opposed to elsewhere where the 13 would have been what?

I have a feeling that this game is going to surprise people.
Sure, not an actual masterpiece like Astro Bot with some of the best talent in Tokyo behind it, but I'm expecting a solid 82-85 on MC here.

I doubt it. Day before embargo isn't a great sign, especially for a game like this.

Very little hype leading up to the release as well. They've talked more about Horizon Remastered than this.

Seems like they're trying to get this out before black Friday.

SIE has been like this for a while now, it happened with Astro Bot (94 MC) as well. Reviews for PS5 Pro are also dropping a day before launch.

Considering the type of game it is, not surprised? It's also targeting a much wider audience to that of the hype-obsessed hardcore.

Not sure what exactly gives this impression, but whatever.

Like I said, not always a red flag, but not a green flag either. Astro Bot at least got some build up in the weeks ahead of release, not to mention how hard they pushed demonstrations for it in the summer (this game was also demoed, but not much push).

They definitely seem to be pushing marketing budgets down. Not sure that's a great idea in the crowded market which is gaming today.

Same thing with pushing Until Dawn out early for Halloween or pushing Spider-Man 2 out early. Both games probably could have used 1-2 months.

I personally can't consider it either of these considering how it's been the case for every other SIE product in the last few months. One which, again, was the best reviewed game of the year.

Astro Bot logically got more push, but SIE has been offering demo previews for Lego Horizon at SGF and more recently, in the California HQs. It was also playable at EGX London last month.

November is also a considerably lighter month compared to October, I don't think Sony is worrying about it too much.

Fine, but Spider-Man 2 was key for Sony to have in holiday 2023, while Until Dawn's situation probably wouldn't have gotten better in a few months, so you see why they went for Halloween there (though, I think they should have waited until the movie, anyway).

Hopefully Sony are coming to their senses on pricing. Astrobot also wasn't $70.
Astrobot should have been $100. It's the best game Sony's made in like a decade.

Mate, just stop talking nonsense. Plenty of successful games from Nintendo and Sony have their embargo lifted just a day before release, that doesn't mean anything.

Dooming and conspiracy GAF in the houuuuuuuse. It's a LEGO game, seriously, what are people expecting here? You know what you're getting, and what you're getting is a LEGO game in a Horizon flavor. Do you really need an embargo to drop to tell you that?

From all indications, this should be another successful game from Sony. These Lego games sell quite well.

It also cements PlayStation's position as the best place for family friendly games.

it should help pave the way for more Playstation games on Nintendo platform in the future
