LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 - Full Announcement Trailer

No X-Men characters? WILL NOT BUY

Geez guys, you people are a fickle bunch.

The roster will be the main selling point.

As someone who loved Lego Marvel Super Heros, I completely skipped Lego Marvel Avengers due to the roster.

Not necessarily due to "no x-men" but the MCU direction (and Im a fan of the MCU)

Wolverine's entire life is a tragedy so that trope works well with his character.

Sure, it isn't even original. I mean, the movie is like the Disney version of the comic.

the reason it was rated highly was because it was a well directed film that focused on character development instead of big budget michael bay style set pieces of destructions and slow motion explosions (like XMO:W. smh).
it had a lot of heart, looked at its subject matter with the self-reflexivity of an adult, and had it not been an x-men related film, would have still stood on its own legs for being a good film.

Character development? Logan himself is one-note for the entire film (the same note he's ever been), except for the utterly predictable paternal instinct progression (which takes its damn time to appear at that). Nobody else progresses much during the entire film.

and as icing on the cake the film spotlight surrounded the acting chops of hugh jackman & sir patrick stewart, whom together can out act the entire MCU roster combined.

That's not a merit of the movie itself, though.

on top of that, aside from deadpool, this is essentially the only other marvel movie that isn't afraid to NOT be family friendly.

I actually really like the MCU films, and you are correct in that they are consistently better per movie than what Fox has made, to date.
However for the most part they are so kid-friendly i feel like mickey mouse could make a cameo appearance and break out in a musical with the other heroes jumping in, and it would still fit in with the flow of the universe. the lack of any real, foreboding threat is the biggest issue i have with their MCU films in general, aside from the winter soldier of course; no surprise as the Russo brothers are brilliant.

At 40 years old, I personally couldn't care less about the degree of family friendliness of a movie. Being entertaining, or being thoughtful: those are the things I value. Logan is average at the first and below average at the second. If anything, the violence in Logan gets repetitive fast and makes the film look juvenile.

Sure, Logan is still lightyears ahead of the unmitigated shit that DC has been spewing for half a decade, but that's not exactly a high bar. But if you think it's better than the MCU movies (not talking about you, but the poster I originally replied to), you're deluding yourself and it's very likely you will change your mind in a decade or two when you stop equating grimness with quality.

rocket raccoon voice actor sounds like the same on as the marvel vs capcom infinite one?
Nope, sounds like Nolan North.

Thor has a completely different VA I don't recognize.

I'm thinking the whole thing with Kang is that they technically can't use him for the movies, but he's not as strongly tied to the Fox owned properties to not use him.

The FF don't even exist in the formerly-known-as-the 616 post-Secret Wars do they?

Did you guys miss when Thor talks to Kang?
That's a ff character.

Kang is an Avengers villain, from multiple event annuals right down to being a member of the young avengers.

As for his lineage... you know how, like, 1 in 200 people are a direct descendant of genghis khan? Given how far in the future he comes from, its pretty likely theres a bunch of 'names' you could directly trace back as his direct ancestors.

Yes, that does make him particularly stupid for killing so many people in the 20th century, but eh, comics.

The FF family lives outside of time and space restoring the Marvel Multiverse for now

I gotta say - after playing Lego Force Awakens recently (my first lego game probably since Lego LOTR) these games seem to have gotten a lot more complicated.

There's often so much going on, on the screen that I can't even find what I'm supposed to be looking for. There are lego bits and coins everywhere and it's just too damn much. AND there are so many damn collectibles, I miss like 30 things every single level. Not sure I'll be buying Lego games anymore if they're just getting more like this.

They've rebalanced them to encourage co-op play (and then omitted online play. Thanks!). Playing through these games solo is a pretty tedious grind now as you've discovered.

You're supposed to miss the 30 things as they are only accessible once you unlock other characters and go back through on Freeplay. You've never been able to 100% everything in Story Mode in these games.

No X-men, no sale.

But more importantly, Lego Marvel Avengers was a HUGE step backward from Marvel Super Heroes 1. I've never played such a half-assed Lego game. So if one reasonably assumes this will build on Marvel Avengers, beware.

I just noticed, could the lack of Trevor Devall & Travis Willingham as Rocket & Thor respectively be due to the ongoing strike? Lego Marvel 2 was listed as one of the struck games. Weird that Travis did Thor in Lego Marvel 1 & MvCI (same for Trevor as Rocket in the latter game) and not Lego Marvel 2.

It's FOX's fault really, they should do the right thing for the fans and give Marvel their characters back.

The right thing? That doesn't make sense. FOX bought the rights legally and their films made people take Marvel seriously back in the early 00s. There'd probably be no MCU without FOX and there's nothing stopping Marvel from throwing X-Men fans a bone.

You're both getting mad at Marvel and Fox for doing rational things to maximize their own profits lol

There is no way this is a real opinion.

The Disney version? You expect people to take that seriously?

The degree of seriousness that people assign to that particular post hasn't been keeping me up at night, but if you want to make a comment rather than a vague appeal to ridicule, please don't let me stop you.
