Life is Strange | Spoiler Thread

Loved Daniels tshirt at the party ;)

Also that max is totally aware of how much warren is in love with her and somehow not oblivious to it,

I don't really understand how...

If Jefferson is famous, why the hell is he in some small-ass town teaching at a private high school?

And why the hell was he okay with kids drinking underage at a party where he supervising it?

Maybe he owns the barn under the name they mentioned.
Maybe because he can do there what he wants to do? We still need to know if he just got Nathan or if Sean is hanging in there too. The all powerful Prescotts would be a good argument ti be there.

And the barn is clearly Prescott owned. There was a photo of Aaron Prescott in there and the info that Sean paid for bunkers against storms.

Episode 5 predictions - Chloe isn't dead, Max wakes up and they're tied up in the bunker. Jefferson is doing the needle thing, gets distracted by Nathan/David, Max is able to get to the photo and rewind/they escape somehow.

Tombraider has like a 10 minute gameplay section where Lara has her hands tied behind her back, so I wouldn't say its implausible.

Uhm. Chloe got shot. In the head. I think timetravel is the only that could get her back. Well that or Jefferson is a necromancer.

Prediction: David helps you escape from Jefferson, you go back in time using the selfie you took with Warren, and one of the choices in the episode is whether or not to kill Jefferson while he is on stage.

ding, ding ..this seems like a possible conclusion.....except for that big ass tornado that's gonna wipe out their entire town. Max is gonna have to go waaaaaay back. I'm talking about saving Rachel! That is where they should stop Mr. Jefferson for good! And Rachel should be the one to do it. I feel Max's powers, the big ass tornado, and the fate of Rachel are all connected.

Chloe got shot through her skull.

I'm sorry, but when they found that underground bunker of horrors, and Rachel's dead body...they should had ran to the police.

The less supernatural stuff the better. So far the game has been on the right side of logical vs supernatural and I really hope it stays that way. Nothing worse than 'supernatural' solving a case in games like this.

Mhm, yes, but on the other hand it's set in America and in a town completely controlled by the Prescotts. Chances are that they can pay everyone off and/or threatning to leave town with all their stuff, dooming it.

I'm sorry, but when they found that underground bunker of horrors, and Rachel's dead body...they should had ran to the police.

They say the police were corrupt, so why not take a whole bunch of pictures and go to the media and/or the FBI?
Camera's are never used for anything practical in this game, teenagers gonna teenage

I would have LIVESTREAMED the discovery on my Twitch.tv channel

When they drove to the swimming pool for the party, i believe they talks about how they dont trust the police or something, because the Prescott family owns the police.

But i think and agree the least they can do is to talk to someone, probably Chloe's mum. They found a dead body and someone's life is in great danger. Its more than some teenagers matter here.

Then the entirety of episode 5 would've taken place in a court room :p
Sure it's not logical and I'm not completely happy with how some things felt rushed towards the end, but Dontnod wanted Max to be in the bunker by the end of the episode.

That is a good point though. At least have Max selfie her with all evidence.

Here am I in the Dark Room #Scary

Me and the gruesome rape evidence ^__*

Oh, how did get Nathan Prescott's psych evaluation so deep into my shirt, will you help me, to get it out?~~~

btw it's super obvious that they dosed Warren to stop him from helping again, he was totally trashed but saying the same stuff Kate was about barely having anything to drink

right into the hands of the Prescott owned police force?

I kinda regret leaving Frank for dead now I know Rachel is dead. I'm tempted to replay from the start and correct all my bad choices.
...you killed frank?

This is my problem with these kind of storylines, they should never write themselves into a place like this which simply doesn't make sense for people to do. Come up with some situation that prevents them to contact police or take pictures etc if you dont want it to go that way, because otherwise it just seems like a convenient plot device that is not sensible but is there because plot reasons.

Police is corrupt but it was never really foreshadowed, infact going by the conversation with the officer in episode 2 it felt like there were good guys too. And in any case there's the whole aspect of Max not taking pictures or videos etc...something anyone would do in her situation, infact it is something she has the option to do in the game in a previous episodes (taking Kate's picture for "proof"). Even things like why did she not rewind and lock the bunker back? I've been doing it for literally everything I open up until that point so as to not leave a clue of me being there and then the game takes away control from me and prevents me from doing something that any character in her position would do...because again reasons !

Lastly, why didn't they talk to David ??!! (at this point Max knows that David cares but in his own way) He's obviously going to be the one to come back and go against Jefferson in episode 5.

A lot of stories do this sort of stuff with their characters, even in movies where they do not act accordingly or atleast the way they are expected to behave under these circumstances considering what we now about them, and the only reason it happens is because the writer could not come up with a better way other than simply ignoring it for plot conveniences.

...you killed frank?
Why not, he tried to kill you, he's intent on killing Chloe some day, there are no witnesses and no way to trace the gun to Chloe. I rewound and ended up with him shot in his leg, but in a next playthrough I wouldn't bother. Especially if Chloe stays dead. Though I fear it will end horribly cliche with Max sacrificing herself.

He is a rude drugdealer, but he genuingly cared for Rachel and he is very sweet once you talked him into trusting you. He even gives back the gun.

Btw. what happens if you take Nathans gun? Is Chloe going dual armed to the party?

I chose the answer about pompidou being cute and frank got incredibly mad and it ended with both of them being dead.

Second try, everything worked out fine.

I killed both Frank and his Dog in one playthrough. Chloe shot the shit out of both of them
Why would you kill cute little Pompidou. You monster!

Frank is very sharp, he picks up minor details to deduce that you were in his home.

Chloe's latest death would have more impactful if it hadn't happened so many times already and I wasn't completely convinced that it will be reset. There's no way this game ends with Chloe dead.
Should've gone out with a annoyed "Not again"

Good episode. The Jefferson twist was pretty obvious, especially after he showed up the the party, but it was still effective. Some of the dialogue was a bit heavy handed. That conversation with Victoria where she ends up talking about how she really thought Max was cool all along was unnatural and forced.

I do you guys feel about going back and supporting David a little bit more? Especially in the fight with Chloe.
The abusive stepfather who is spying on his family is still not a sympathetic character. He's just not a caricature now.

To be honest I think most of the options you are expected to pick in that dialogue tree are counter-intuitive. For instance, when Frank asked why I'd pointed a gun at him, I assumed "I was protecting Chloe" would be better than "You scared me", because the former makes me think of protecting someone close to us and the latter sounds like it'll piss him off, but it's the other way around...

However that did mean when I finally got it right I was positively euphoric!

One thing I noticed: there's a minor choice in episode 2 where you can either tell Jefferson about David Madsen's bullying of Kate or not, and the game tracks it (most people gave David up). Think it's fair to say that might be important in episode 5.

It would be cool if Max assembled all the story selfies she's taken and that you could leap back and forth through them looking for ways to bust Jefferson and change the outcome.

We have Max's butterfly photo in the bathroom, Victoria's photo if you made fun of her, David and Kate's photo if you didn't step in, her selfie with Chloe and the photo with Warren (dunno if I am missing something)

This way they could give us all 3 mandatory photos to dive in. I doubt they'll let us jump into the optional ones if we took them, but that would be pretty cool too.

On another topic, I am expecting the storm to actually happen, even if we later rewind. We need to see the consequences of warning the homeless woman about it.

Also Prescott owning the school or not, it makes no sense for a school to let underage people have a party with weed/drugs and alcohol in its premises....much less to have a staff (even a twisted one like Jefferson, because he has a positive image of himself in public) announce the winner of a competition from class in this party. wtf lol

Remember that you are a chihuhaha barking up to a bulldog. He doesn't see you as equal just some college kid that had a better life than him, that gets covered by her parents while he lives on drug deals in the dumb. So being humble is working out better than trying to be tough.

I'd love to come up with good reason, but I just want to have a playthrough for Ep5 with all the worst possible decisions to see where it goes.
I would laugh if you would actually get the only good ending or something.

...you killed frank?

I went through the scenario 4 times, and 3 of them ended up with Frank dead, and the other with Frank pulling the knife on Chloe.

I wonder how many endings there will be. There is so much potential for there to be a lot of them. One where Jefferson is killed/arrested. Nathan gets helped/arrested. Victoria becoming a friend/mutual respect. Warren dates Max/stuck in the friendzone. Etc.

However, no matter what the conclusion will probably be the same.

My guess is one.

One definite ending. We are all going to the same destination, just taking different roads to get there.

Those are mostly just potential for slightly different lines of dialogue in the last episode. I can see them giving us two different endings (one final choice that branches things), but not really more than that.

I actually think with the way they've set up the ending montages, atleast in the first 3 episodes, makes it easy for them to do quite different endings by just showing different shots, etc.

Not one definite ending. Maybe one or two general endings that have very different details and key points according to our decisions. Like seeing Max going to the funeral when Kate died and such.

I really hope the ending doesn't turn out to be Max going all the way back to the bathroom and letting Chloe die. Not because that would be a bad ending, just because it would be cliche.

But that wouldn't fix anything. Nathan and Jefferson would still be going around drugging, kidnapping and (sometimes) killing girls.

I kind of wanted Rachel to be the true culprit. Like she was in reality some obsessed artist looking for that "perfect" shot and purposely went "missing" so that she could easily frame Nathan if discovered and miraculously return safe and sound when she wanted. It's a trope far less common than handsome teacher is secret a sicko, then again most of us never caught the latter but it does happen in fiction.

One hole to this idea would be the Ghost Doe business though but maybe that's her "power"

Getting herself killed would be some next-level photography enthusiasm

That was my take on Frank as well, plus de-escalation works pretty well with him too. Also, most of the other options require you to admit you've been rifling around his stuff, which of course doesn't go well.

I get this feeling we'll end up with multiple false endings, as in you'll be able to get close to the end of the episode and reach one of several different no-win scenarios, but then have a last-resort action that resets all those scenarios back to the real ending. It would allow Dontnod to have their cake and eat it too, in a way.

We didn't see the whole body, just a body bag with a decomposed female body wearing Rachel's clothes (I assume).
Of course then we would have had 2 missing girls and not just one.

Chloe In Episode 1 ending: Get a grip Max! This isn't some comic book or an anime.
What Max should have replied: Well duh! This is a David Lynch movie!

Also, Rachel has a Dragon Tattoo on her left leg. DONTNOD must really love that movie/book.

Okay wow ---> Dragon Tattoo poster in Life Is Strange
We are full on reference mode here people!
