Light switch question

So my garage light switch stopped working a bit back, so I thought I'd pop it out and replace it, when I took it out I came across a scenario I have not encountered inside the house while updating the electricity. A very old looking switch with 2 screws on top, two on bottom and...4 red wires, no black no white. In this scenario would two be hot and two be neutral. Would this need a special switch or could i just connect 2 of the wires to one side and two to the other of a duplex switch. Thinking of just getting a electrician to handle this one but not if its easy.
Thanks for the answers ahead of time going to watch a film.

Might be a 4 way switch and they are all hot conductors. Hire an electrician. Im an electrician IBEW 11.

Put the same type of switch in and wire it the same way.

I have never seen a switch like this before with 2 screws on top and two on bottom, but I'm sure my hardware guy will know. Thanks I just was super curious because never seen 4 reds.

I'm a shitty handyman. But if there is one thing I would never touch myself is anything electrical. I'll ask my contractor or my brother to give me a hand.

If you guys want to hear about shady old lamps, my parent shave this ancient desk lamp that's got to be 40 or 50 year old. It's brown, metal and pretty heavy. At the top is a tiny black switch you turn to turn it on. The thing still works but the parts are kind of loose.

I'd get my arm zapped turning it on unless I tightened the bulb or the top part (I forget). Then no shock. LOL. I shouldnt laugh because I have no idea if a situation like that can kill someone, but hey I lived being zapped many times. LOL
