Replacing the HDD does not void the warranty, the console is designed to have a replaceable HDD.

Replacing the HDD does not void the warranty. The thing was built to allow that. Some of y'all will parrot anything.

A reasonable failure rate is about 3%. So far 5 or so people have reported problem out of 4k taco bell ps4, who knows how many early released ps4s, the ps4s sold in New York early, and the review ps4s. Not to mention the store kiosks. Lets just say there are only 4k ps4s out there for simplicity and that there are 3 times the number of people who have reported that have the same issue. 20 out of 4k? .5% failure rate.
