"Like a one man human centipede"

It looks like the system does an HDD check. If it was a corrupted HDD it should throw an error shouldn't it? If your HDD in PS3 dies does it throw an error?

Since the OS seems to work just fine, it's most likely a defective hard drive. The "updates" and "downloads" are causing bad sectors to crash the system.

I feel really bad for the guy, but the is the most entertainment I've ever got from a malfunctioning new console that doesn't belong to me.

I think whatever happened when he unplugged in the middle of the download is still at work. He took out the HDD, booted, turned it off and put it right back in. He didn't change anything about it, he should format it.
Exactly. The worst thing is that he restarted the very process that killed it in the first place, and he's baffled that the problem happened again. He clearly has a badly corrupted install of DCUO.

Seriously, DCUO? He's so hyped about that game that he's willing to retry downloading it after it caused his system to go down for over five hours on stream? Really?

Its not the game dude.. he needs to reformat the HDD

wonder if he's tried this out yet.
So if your PS4 wont show a picture but the blue light pulses, it tries to load data from the HDD but cant..so it wont load into the OS.
Another problem? You cant load into Safe Mode with this corrupted OS data...
Fix?
1. You have to unplug your HDD
2. Boot the Console without HDD and it will load Safe Mode (white lightbar) and asks for a HDD
3. Turn off, plug in the HDD again and boot the Console again
4. PS4 will boot into Safe Mode again and you can recover now the necessary OS Data, PS4 will start again and will boot into OS again.
No HDMI fault like some people said.

Format the drive bro. There is corrupted data on it.

Naw, the hardrive is fucked if anything. Lol, plus PS4 is run on BSD, not WINDOWS. It isn't fat32 or NTFS so formatting his drive on Windows isn't going to do jack shit.

LOL, his brother is having same issue??? FUCKING TROLL.

What bugs me the most is this guy when it booted back up could have formatted through the PS4 system settings like you can on PS3 (assuming) but instead goes and RESTARTS his DL of DCUO when the other one was also DLing so he's got two download going. One of which is surely corrupted from god knows what he did to his system to start this mess.

If I wanted to format a hard drive but didn't know how, I might consider googling "how do I format a hard drive" rather than ask a Twitch chat.
