Linux Exceeds 3% Marketshare on Steam Hardware Survey for First Time

I wonder to what extent it's a Windows vs. Linux issue or if it's simply that AMD drivers suck.
Probably a mix of both tbh. You can objectively measure that Windows 11 takes more system RAM to run in the background than the majority of Linux distros out there, and if you're running weaker or older hardware that's can easily create bottlnecks. I can also tell because running a debloater program for Win11 gave me a modest 5 percent improvement in games for free on the same hardware, and I'm running a intel i7 14700k + rtx 4080.

I also think Linux drivers being open-source has had the community, and even Valve make improvements to them over time that helps make up for AMD's potential weaknesses producing them entirely on their own. Nvidia seems more competent, but they close-source their drivers, so we have to wait for them to catch up on the Linux side to the Windows side.
