Hail to the KING baby
Here are some of the best live songs that I've collected from these two lovely dames. Some of these are even better than the album versions imo, and some aren't available on any albums.

Cat Power

"Deep Inside" (Mary J. Blige cover)

"Wonderwall" (Oasis cover)

"Hard Times in New York Town" (Dylan cover)

"What Would the Community Think" (Live in Paris)

"Fate of the Human Carbine" (Live in Paris)

Mirah

"Location Temporary" (Live on KSDT)

"Mt. St. Helens" (Live on KSDT)

"While We Have the Sun" (Live at SUNY Purchase)

Njoy!

Cat Power bootlegs with the Dirty Three are so damn good. American Flag especially. :D

Well then I'll have to snag that then! I've got Live in Paris, Live in Seattle, Peel Sessions, Planete Claire, and a few others I don't know specifically where they're from. Peel Sessions are great, but I like Live in Paris a lot too because it's got some great WWTCT songs, like "In This Hole," which I think is literally the most depressing rendition of any song I've ever heard from her, which is saying something.

Just downloaded all of the cat power stuff. It sounds like she's singing through sheet-rock and a thick layer of water. Really, a muddy sound.

Moving on to mirah...

i'm also upping a cat power show from 1998...should be done in a couple hours or so.

Excellent, I look forward to it.

Couple more songs.

Mirah, "While We Have the Sun" (Live at SUNY)- I have a very downbeat mix, but even this song is too depressing for me sometimes so I skip over it. I don't know what it is about this version specifically, even compared to the album version, maybe the intimacy of the sound, maybe the guitar.

Cat Power, "Satisfaction" (Stones Cover, Live at Planete Claire)

mirah's morning becomes eclectic set was pretty good

I liked it, but I must have gotten a bad version or something because I remember the sound being messed up. I really like her KSDT set though, mostly b/c it has "Location Temporary" and a great version of "Mt. St. Helens" (hey, would ya look at that?). Live at SUNY and I think Amherst is pretty good too. I was really excited about the KAOS set b/c Elvrum is in it, but the sound quality is meh unfortunately.
