If Nintendo paid for Persona 5, that is one more super smart decision. I hate to say it, but Atlus needs the money. It's just strange not to release on PS3 seeing as how the install base dwarfs the Wii U, but shrug, Japan gonna Japan.

But they'd literally be just getting a cheque from Nintendo, and potentially fucking their relationship with fans who will either miss out on the game, or be forced to buy hardware they may not have.

Atlus wanted to release 3DS game, Nintendo makes a deal that Atlus has to also make a game for the Wii U?
