Extreme, the parent company of Dragami Games, is revising its consolidated earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2025 after Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP significantly exceeded initial sales targets.

According to GameBiz, Extreme has updated its annual forecast upwards for all metrics, including a projected 5.9% increase in net sales and an impressive 52.1% increase in net profit.

The company attributes the unexpected financial boost to the performance of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, which far surpassed expectations. The new remaster of Grasshopper Manufacture’s cult-classic hack-and-slash game was released across multiple platforms in September this year. Although it received mixed reviews from critics, RePOP currently has a Very Positive status on Steam and a Generally Favorable User Score on Metacritic.

Good to hear I suppose. I had to refund the game due to a few obnoxious bugs I wasn't willing to deal with or wait for patches that I wasn't sure were coming in a timely manner.

Yeah, regarding this - have the bugs/performance been sorted by now? I never played this back in the day, and it's like "sorta want", but at the same time don't want to support bad (re-)releases.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Must have had very reasonable expectations.

Hope the game has shipped in a better state too.

I am honestly in shock with this news. Not that I think it's a bad game, but it seems like they spent a lot of money and time remastering it, and I would have assumed the relatively high asking price would have hurt sales. Glad to be wrong, in this case. I still plan to pick it up when it hits $25-$30.

Glad to hear it. I grabbed it early to support the developers. I plan to play it once it has been out for a little while and patches and mods make it better. I played a little bit and I definitely miss the old music. So I really want a mod to fix that. I wish certain things were better explained within the game, like the different game types. We've seen a few patches and I wonder if more are coming. Maybe with this news, they are motivated to keep working on it.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
Did they fix the port, though? I recall the PC version was supposed to be a mess.

Either way, it's kind of shocking to hear that it did well (or well enough... who knows what their expectations were?). I remember liking the original, so I guess that bodes well.

Good for them, too many failures lately, nice to hear a success, even if from a smaller company (especially if from a smaller company).
