Well after the bullshit that happened a bit back with our Verizon services we've dumped everything except for limited local service, caller ID and voice mail.... any recommendations for long distance?

I keep seeing Pioneer Telephone's name pop up on all the rate checking sites but I'm not familiar with them..

What are you using for internet access? There is no reason you should use anything less than Vonage.

I'm not ready to deal with the Vonage issue just yet.... we would have to go through some hoops with ADT with our home security system to get it running through out Comcast internet service... and I'm just not ready for that hassle right now. Maybe down the road a bit.

AHHH fair enough but, I think there are some fairly simple work arounds for those issues I think Phoenix knows but, I can see not wanting to be worried about the hastle.

If Vonage is a no go you should try Capsule Communications. They give pretty good deals.

I don't think Capsule is around anymore...

Not sure what your long distance calling patterns are, but I use onesuite. It's a prepaid plan with an access number you must call (probaby similar to calling cards). It is 2.9 cents per minute for a 1800 number or 2.5 centers for a local number. Call quality if pretty good, but we mostly call at night. Internation calls might not be as good for quality.

Not sure if you want an access number or not, but it is pretty cheap.
