I was gonna translate the list but there's literally NOTHING exciting in there.

What's up with Sega lately anyway? Sheesh.

I'll translate...

･AC World Club Champion Football Series A 2002-2003 Ver.2.1
･AC Initial D: Arcade Stage Ver.3
･AC Virtua Fighter 4: Final Tuned
･AC Beetle Mushiking

･PS2 The Rumblefish (Dimps)
･PS2 SEGA AGES 2500 Series Vol.19: Fighting Vipers

...yep this list sucks. :(

Well, we already know they're saving the new Sonic for E3. Maybe they just don't care about GameJam...

It hasn´t been the best generation for Sega , but still it has some kick ass game like PDO , Out Run2 , F Zero , Monkey Ball , Virtua Figther , Jet Set Radio Future or Blood Will Tell .And there´s also some good portable games like Shining Force , Astroboy or Feel the Magic .

But is dissapointing that some AAA teams are MIA like AM2 , Hitmaker o Smilebit that hasn´t done anything good since PDO , and most of the games are done by Sonic Team or Wowworks that shows that it hasn´t a really good knowledge of PS2 hard .

Anyway in this list there are some games missing really interesting like Shining Force Neo , Phantasy Star Universe , Condemned (is a Monolith game in fact) , Sega Rally or the games that Smilebit , AMVision , AM2 and the Digital Rex should be developing .

Has published anything since its creation Digital Rex?

Damn this is really sad. It just boggles the mind. They probably have somehwere in the neighborhood of 30 IP's that if they used them it would make hardcore gamers wet themselves, and this is how they're spending their time. If this isn't obvious that Sega is broke, and has no money to develop any high budget game, I don't know what is. Why hasn't Microsoft, Take Two or EA bought them yet? I'd rather see them go bye bye as a stand alone developer then see all of their talent and IP's sit there and rot.

Out of all the companies that milk things and rehash games, Sega is one that really not only could benefit from doing it, but it would also benefit us. Stop coming up with new shit that sucks, and remake some of your old games that rocked and we all want. And STOP whoring Sonic. Leave it alone until you can make a real Sonic in 3D that goes back to the roots.

Sega's actually got cash now. They just have this really sallow sucky guy holding the purse strings named Sammy who plays too much Pachinko and chain smokes Lucky Strikes.

Final Tuned home version expected in June for Japan.

I hope the recent state that Sega is in means one thing.... Shenmue3 for PS3.....

Anyways, Ghost Squad is an awesome game, and the Sangoku game, although offline at Gamejam, could turn out to be amazing.

Sega is definitely coming back arcade wise... Quest of D, VF:FT, etc... Too bad none of those we'll get in the US.

yeah, i actually debated whether to bother translating this for 1up after i read the list myself. but, people will always click on a story that has "sega" in the headline no matter how much the company fails to deserve the love these days. (and i used to love sega dearly.)

Didn't know FT was actually planned for a home release. Any chance of coming out in the US too?

I very much agree with all. In fact,SEGA is outpacing everybody from Namco right down to SNKP.

Just before the Dreamcast days, Sega also spent some time "silent", but they were just preparing the excellent and numerous batch of games that they were capable of releasing for the Dreamcast in only 2/3 years.

So, I'll not lose hope and I'll think they are in a simillar situation now.

I note that Sega isn't even showing off any of thier new Shining Force games at this Jamfest of thiers, what a rip-off.

I guess I'll admit that I was skeptical at Sega's list of games until I finally saw what they were.

Sangokushi Taisen
http://www.sangokushi-taisen.com/

A new versus strategy game that's online and based on the Sangoku Universe. The game is All.net compatible and the point of the game is to command your troops via placing and moving cards that you purchase representing troops and soldiers on a electronic sensor sandbox. You can see how this works in the official site. Imagine a 4 player Kessen with hands on controls. This is the most impressive game at AOU and it's going to a huge hit i'm sure. Sega is going to make a ton of money with this one. (All.net card + Money to play + Price of cards).

Senko no Ronde
http://www.grev.co.jp/ronde/

A versus action shooter game. This game is basically a one on one shooter game. Imagine two ships going against each other asteroid style, throw in melee attacks, and japanese shooter game style action, and you have about half the idea of what this game is like. The cool thing about this game is the dynamic camera system, and the B.O.S.S mode. This is like a super move in a fighting game where when activated, the game shifts perspective and the player that activates it turn into a BOSS similar to a boss in a typical shooter game. Their size is enlarged and they can fill the screen with bullets to take out the opposing player. You can see a clip of it at the location test here.

These are just two of the amazing new games coming from Sega. I'm sure VF5 is coming as well in the coming year but already Sega is establishing themself as the power house in the arcade industry. With VF, Quest of D, Championship Soccer, Mahjong, all of which are online enabled, they are set to dominate the arcade industry in the coming years.
