Honestly, it's so bloody old now, anyone playing the second game at release (never mind the first) will be pushing or mid 40s. Sure, it's picked up some in the interim, but it's been forever. Imo they should be doing full remakes along with the 3rd.

It's not that old -- I was playing Half Life 2 at release I was 15 years old, 36 now.

Doesn't mean they couldn't have still worked on it, just not as Valve employees.

Either way, I still think Valve probably has people on staff that could write a great Half-Life 3 plot, especially considering how much material they probably already had at various stages throughout the last two decades.
