Director/Writer: Rian Johnson (Brick, The Brothers Bloom)

Plot: Looper is a time travel movie, set in a near future where time travel doesn’t exist but will be invented in a few decades. It’s pretty dark in tone, much different from Bloom, and involves a group of killers (called Loopers) who work for a crime syndicate in the future. Their bosses send their targets hogtied and blindfolded back in time to the Loopers, and their job is to simply shoot them in the head and dispose of the body. So the target vanishes from the future and the Loopers dispose of a corpse that doesn’t technically exist, a very clean system. Complications set in from there.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt
and Bruce Willis star. Willis will play the same character as Levitt, but in a different time frame.

Also starring Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, Xu Qing, Noah Segan, Jeff Daniels, and Piper Perabo.

Aww shit, more Rian Johnson-JGL collab sounds good to me.

Not really happy about Bruce Willis being cast though, I'm kind of sick of the guy now and also how the hell can he pass off as an older version of him?

That role clearly belongs to Johnny Depp.

yep, The Brothers Bloom and Brick are fantastic. I can't wait for this.

Brothers Bloom was pretty good. Brick was an excellent concept that was totally fumbled.

I loooved Brick. And if both Willis and Gordon-Levitt sign on to this, I will most definitely be interested.

fuck, Depp would be awesome.

The only good Bruce Willis movie in the last ten years has been Sin City. His last two have been particularly atrocious (Cop Out and Surrogates).

Oh fuck yes.

Crazy that Willis is the weak link here. Hopefully he delivers and this works out.

What the hell are you smoking?

Sixth Sense, Alpha Dog, Unbreakable, Tears of the Sun, Hostage, 16 Blocks, Lucky Number Slevin and Live Free and Die Hard were all decent to good films.

Hart's War wasn't so bad either.

Sounds awesome. Liked Brick and really liked Brothers Bloom. Plus time travel is involved, which is rad.

wtf is live free or die hard? is that an xbox game or something?

Die Hard 4

Didn't count the Shyalaman films since they are ten years or older. I did enjoy some of the films you mentioned but Sin City is the only great one.

The Brothers Bloom was a chore, but Brick was cool. I'm intrigued.

Unbreakable will turn 10 in November.

Ocean's Twelve, Unbreakable, Fast Food Nation >>>>>>>>>> Sin City

hehe, all i can think about.

Brothers Bloom was terrible, but I'm still interested in this.

Sixth Sense came out over 10 years ago, and Unbreakable was horrible.

Sixth Sense was 1999, not far enough from the 10 year period to completely disregard it. Unbreakable was decent, probably the only film of his (M. Night) outside of Sixth Sense that I like.

What the hell are you smoking brah? Sixth Sense and Unbreakable are the only decent to good films on that list. The rest was trash.

Sounds Gilliam-esque this time around

You have a ridiculously steep rubric for films then :lol

Last time travel movie with Willis, 12 Monkeys, was a waste of 2 hours. I'll be keeping an eye on this though. Can't go wrong with JGL!:D
