The developer is Deck13, they're from Germany. They've done mostly 3D adventure games and Diablo-likes before. The developers anyone?
15-20 hours, which is "short" these days aparently
last 2 games I played of that lenght, The Evil Within and Styx, I was about ready to be done with both near the end (and I loved him) so this is the sweet spot for me
I hope this turns out good. I'm excited to play it.
I'm expecting tragic reviews though. This will be absolutely savaged simply by virtue of not being Souls. No part of this game will be allowed to stand on its own and will be relentlessly contrasted with Souls.
You neglected to mention the dudes who worked on the Witcher series at CD Projeckt who came over for this project, including the lead producer on Witcher 2. Dudes with chops. The developer is Deck13, they're from Germany. They've done mostly 3D adventure games and Diablo-likes before.

How linear are we talking? Is it A to B the whole way? Is there backtracking and side dungeons?
You can backtrack all the way to the start if you want, and there are hidden chests, dungeons etc to find.
Any screenshots of the map? I always love a good map system.
bust out the graph paperNo map unfortunately.
No map unfortunately.
Souls games have no maps either. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Of course, their intricate and memorable designs made it so that you rarely got lost, I don't know how the level design is in Lords of the Fallen. If it's generic room -> corridor -> room -> stairs, well... :|None at all?? Wtf is this like 1988? That's disappointing to hear. I do have this on preload so I'm playing either way.
I aint judgin'that was meant to say "them" lol, no you didnt uncover my secret love of goblins...
...because its not secret, goblins are awesome. true story
That's great. I wonder if any of these hidden stuff shed more light on the lore a la Dark Souls. You can backtrack all the way to the start if you want, and there are hidden chests, dungeons etc to find.
When the year I was born in is used as an example for old/outdated shit :'(None at all?? Wtf is this like 1988? That's disappointing to hear. I do have this on preload so I'm playing either way.

Is there any sort of fast travel in the game, or do you literally have to backtrack through the entire thing? Makes me think it's a pretty short game if so.
Embargo up?

Not till midnight pst.
Isn't it midnight EST?
Agreed.one day people will realise that, just like with movies (where, strangely, this is much less of a problem), it is OK to like bad games
it is OK to think a game is bad and still like it. It seems, contrary to movies, most people are incapable of seperating both things and just say "well fuck that reviewer, I thought it was awesome, I loved it"
with movies, you say "man that movie is terrible but I loved it" all the time.
Im not saying the game is or isnt good btw, I have no idea, its just something ive been wanting to say for a long time and I predict its a good game to say this about
GMG isn't carrying this game, I'm disappoint. Steam prices, no thanks.
There are bad games that are also just innately addictive.
I mean look at all those people playing Destiny.
It'd be clever... if it hadn't been used 100 times before. There are bad games that are also just innately addictive.

That's not what the community manager told me in a email earlier, unless he was wrong.

As in, possible sleeper hit of the year. No, it's no Dark Souls, but man, what a surprise. Very, very good.
