Yes! I picked it up again! After watching to ep 17 I 'lost' interest and with this thread it came flopping back again. :D

While it makes good drama, it sucks that basically everyone on the raft is now expendable. Michael and Walt have bonded, and their little arc sort of closed with Walt admitting to burning the first raft. Plus, Walt gave away Vincent in a big gesture. Jin apologizes to Sun, ending their separation (at least emotionally). Sawyer tells Jack about his encounter with Jack's dad, and he's finally been contributing on his own free will, in direct contrast to his early ways.

I can't see Walt dying though, since we know he's got powers. I could see him possibly disappearing though... ending up with the Others or something. It'd be weird if he came back to the survivors what with his giving away the dog. Plus, he's a kid.

Michael, Jin and Sawyer though, their current island arcs are resolved, more or less. It might not be looking good for someone.
I think the raft's a goner. Like everyone that's ever known anything have died, the kid will die as well. Along with the boring Futurama Accountant character, his dad and the others. Sawyer will live somehow. :)

Lost and Alias are moving timeslots.

Lost is going to move to 9/8c (Alias's former slot), Alias will move to Thursday's at 8/7c.

why are they moving timeslots, and when does this take place?

It won't take place until season 2 (probably Sept. or Oct.). They want the success of Lost to lead in to their new sci-fi drama "Invasion". This also helps "Alias" which they feel can now take on the Thursday 9PM slot (also moving next season).

I thought that was a great episode, some things tied up to a degree such as Jin and Sun (the reconciliation, plus him telling her to stay safe specifically with Jack just seems to be setting Jin up for an exit). Sawyer is actually becoming a character I look more forward too, seems to be set up with real potential to evolve (unless they chose to have him do a shock exit just as he started to change for the better...), and the background dynamic with him and Kate both hoping to see each other before he set off was quietly well done.

And now there are a whole new set of potential sets for the characters to be involved on, the old ship, the "bunker", the raft. Good stuff.

I just hope that they explain enough of the current mysteries before moving on to new ones. The creators have said they learned from the mistakes of shows like the X-Files in interviews, and I hope so. If they don't explain shit and continue to only add new mysteries, I'm thinking Lost probably won't be back for a third season.

I really enjoyed this episode, I thought it was fantastic, especially the multiple background stories. The only thing I can't get over is that everytime I see Arzt, I think of that movie The Late Shift, and immeaditly think of him as trying to be Jay Leno (yes, even though he looks nothing like him). I really like his character, and I kinda hope they don't redshirt him, but I wouldn't bet against it.

Did the latest episode ending have
the raft floating off the beach with all waving bye
. The torrent seemed a little short.

It closed with a quick shot to the black smoke with some spooky music playing. they obviously didn't want to end the episode on a happy note (which would have been fine IMO) so they inserted this. You didn't miss anything important
