Too bad you missed that.We didn't find out much about the monster, or really anything.. The first season they introduced a lot of stuff like "the monster", "the Hatch", "the others", Walts special powers, Locke having some kind of special bond with the island and Claire's baby.
They just set the plate and didn't really flesh any of the ideas out so it could go anyway.
I basically asked initially if anyone could get me cliffnotes. If there's some mega-huge LOST site online with summaries and stuff, that's exactly what I'm looking for.

I had a feeling, the second that the guy was talking philosophically about miracles...the character was too prophesizing to be normal. I had a feeling he'd be popping up...and then bam.
Fantastic premiere. It feels as if they perhaps could have taken these first two episodes and put them into one to avoid the complete lack of raft action, but this posed all the right questions.
Oh. Anyone bashing the freakin' flashbacks, this episode should at least prove something to you about how fantastically they can be used.

edit: yah I had a weird feeling about him when he correctly prophesized that Jack had "fixed" her. The way Jack was talking and acting you would have normally assumed his patient had died.. yet, he jumped right to how do you know you didn't fix her. He also immediately hinted at love and a female patient (although that's less strange)
Then they obviously threw a strong hint with the line "maybe I'll see you in another life". Wow, he definately wasn't surprised at the end either.

After the last few eps of the first season, I was kinda pissed. Just more bullshit after more bullshit. TOO MUCH COCK TEASE! I was jaded and I thought that the writers would just keep making more and more shit that had no answers for this new season. And even the commericals for the first ep of this season where they showed Kate screaming and the light from the hatch coming on, I was like, "yeah, that'll happen, but at the LAST TEN MINUTES!"

You know, I was starting to think some of the new Lost rip-off shows were pretty good.. but Lost just reminded me why it is SOOOOO fucking good. I mean, Holy crap, what the hell is going on..
also, the flashbacks are great because they add a ton to the story... but if nothing else, when something really good is about to happen and they go to a flashback it pisses you off, but in a good way.

So everything inside the hatch appears to date from the early 80's, at the latest. What the fuck does that mean? Was it some kind of Cold War defense program? WHAT THE FUCK DID THAT "EXECUTE" KEY DO? To be honest, I read spoilers in advance, but somehow, I was completely unprepared for that opening. Holy shit.
