So after watching this movie off of a blind purchase and doing some research about it online I was pretty surprised I had never heard of it. This film caught a lot of buzz because it was shot guerrilla style at Disney in Orlando and in Cali. The film is entirely shot in black & white which I think definitely gives it a nice ambience. I'm really a sucker for older movies shot in this type of style. Films like Rosemary's baby, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and even more recent films like Lords of Salem or House of The Devil are some of my favorites. Also as a kid I visited the parks a lot so it was interesting seeing the park shot in this perspective.

So a quick rundown for those unfamiliar with the film...

IMDB said:
An epic battle begins when a middle-aged American husband and father of two learns that he has lost his job. Keeping the news from his nagging wife and wound-up children, he packs up the family and embarks on a full day of park hopping amid enchanted castles and fairytale princesses. Soon, the manufactured mirth of the fantasy land around him begins to haunt his subconscious. An idyllic family vacation quickly unravels into a surrealist nightmare of paranoid visions, bizarre encounters, and an obsessive pursuit of a pair of sexy teenage Parisians. Chillingly shot in black and white, Escape From Tomorrow dissects the mythology of artificial perfection while subversively attacking our culture's obsession with mass entertainment.

I'm really surprised that there isn't much love for this movie. Now that the shock & talk of how it was filmed has worn off I hope people can actually give it a non biased watch. It's not for everyone and may take you a day or two to chew on. I think it is definitely a LOVE/HATE film. I am also curious to hear different gaffer's interpretations of it....

My fear before watching it was the story of the filming would be more interesting than the actual movie, and that was the truth and then some. Thought it was really bad, really boring, and hard to make it through.

I'd rather watch a movie about people trying to film a movie in Disney World.

really liked all the hype surrounding the movie/how it was filmed.

But i know of no person who saw it, and actually enjoyed it. Made it sound kind of boring

Everyone in here save me and the OP need to punch themselves in the general groinal region for not showing the film more love.

Same fear has kept me from watching it. Got really stong vibes it made for a better trailer than actual film, and the word of mouth post-release confirmed it.

I've still been meaning to watch it regardless but dont really have any excitement to do so. Waiting for a rainy day or something I guess
