Yeah keep going. Season 2 is kind of weird, but 3-5 are great. I might pick 3 as my favorite. 1 is close though. Series wraps up really great too. One of my favorite shows.

3>1>2

Forgot which was better out of 4 and 5, but I know for a fact both were above 2. Doing a rewatch right now so I'll get on those rankings.

I'm a little more than halfway through season 5.

If it wasn't for Julie Taylor's story line sucking up oxygen, it'd be among the best seasons for any show I've ever seen.

and it's not even close.

This show is unusually good with licensed music.

Edit: The only thing more surprising than the sudden dip in quality in s2 (though it did still have plenty of wonderful moments) is that they so quickly started to right the ship in episode 1 of s3.

I'm trying to make it to the series finale tonight. I've been watching this show for a week straight. Season one was really damn good, and two wasn't as bad for me as everyone else thought it was oddly enough. Not nearly as good as season 1, but I didn't have it. I just hated how they found a whole new side of town once season 4 hits, like it never existed until then, I know it made things fresher, but it seemed a little silly.

Also, I hate how every character, in order to get the characters to have a conversation, they have to say "Can I talk to _____ for a minute alone please?". It happens every episode almost, sometimes two to three times. It may happen in all shows but it's especially annoying in this one for some reason.

Also I'm so all about Julie. She's annoying as shit at times though.

And Saracen gets with her. So it's all the better.

I loved when he finally started getting some. If any character on that show deserved to get laid, it was him. His character was built up amazingly, with dealing with his grandma to his dad and mom and working and all those responsibilities thrown on him. The art thing was a bit much at times but it wasn't that bad. Him, Tim Riggins, and Coach Taylor were the best characters on the show by far.

Saracen is a wonderful character. The show is also noteworthy in that it has a believable and interesting married couple at its center, which is unique among the dramas I've enjoyed (The Wire, Breaking Bad, Deadwood, Mad Men, and Justified overwhelmingly feature characters that are either single or in train wrecks of marriages).

It's such a shame that season 2 turned out the way it did. If it had been the first season, I wouldn't have bothered to give the show a second chance. Season 3 is almost comedic in how quickly it abandons season 2's new characters and plot threads

, but it's ultimately for the better.
