So quite some time ago ( 3 years maybe?) Justice League season 1 came out on bluray and while I currently don't remember specific episodes I DO recall enjoying it. Fast forward to a few weeks ago and a routine visit to the local best buy lead me to discover that season 2 FINALLY got released on bluray so lately I've been mainlining that and really enjoying it.

I figured it'd be a good idea to just make a thread about peoples memories of this cartoon , perhaps they watched it when it aired or perhaps they, like myself, bought it recently. Whichever it may be, have at 'er !

In my personal case I really loved the 2 parter called "A Better Tommorow" which features the alternate universe Justice Lords , I just found it very well written and immensely enjoyed the idea of superheroes taking the hero concept to it's inevitable end point. I'm not quite done with the season yet, I have I think 5 or 6 episodes left included the 3 part season finale but A better tomorrow is my highlight so far.

Right now I'm hoping the wait between season 2 and 3 releasing on bluray is much shorter then season 1 to 2 was.

After the latest MLP episode of all things reminded me of "Only a Dream" the episode where the League is Psychologically bombarded with their biggest fears. I just watched it again. Such an amazing episode
(Batman's such a badass at the end)
. Yeah yeah, I know, JLU is SO AWESOME with the overarching plotline and all, but the original JL is still a great watch.

How is it on Bluray, BTW? I've noticed Blurays make animation look really good with its vibrant colors and sharp image, but I just can't imagine JL looking any better.

After nearly a decade of DCAU awesomeness I was a little disappointed by the first two seasons of JL. JLU was much better; it had better character centered stories and went back to an episodic structure.

I am happy WB has decided to continue releasing Justice League on Blu-ray. Let's hope we don't have to wait too long for JLU and this means they will release their other DC cartoons on BD too(Young Justice and Brave and the Bold).

It's a WB Blu-ray so video bitrate is low. The picture is sharp but the backgrounds can sometimes suffer from color banding. It's still the best picture quality you'll find of the series anywhere.

I was pretty sad when JLU ended. Both series really made me like DC. I hadn't watched a DC cartoon series since Batman TAS which was still one of the best cartoons made.

I thought it was cool how it seemed very episodic, but they'd constantly reference things in past episodes just to let you know the world had a memory. The justice lords story became the source of confict in later episodes and the driving force behind important character's motivations. Also hawk girl could never live that shit down.
